Let me level with you.

First of all, the GAYEST thing on the internet you can do is say something along "You were newbies once."

Second off, anywhere you go, people are wary when a new face shows up. School, work, sports teams, circle jerks, etc. Communities and friedships are developed, and people don't like new folks coming in and changing things.

In an internet sense though, it's really more along the lines of assuming/being proved to that the new person is, in fact, a huge fucking idiot. It's not that we hate newbies, we just hate huge fucking idiots.

Newbies are always welcome to the board, it wouldn't grow without them. But too many newbies try too hard to be funny instead of just being themselves, and that's where they get into trouble. And yes, quite often there is a little bit of newbie "hazing" of sorts... but you don't exactly have to have an incredibly thick skin to withstand it. So to any newbs out there that are thinking about posting, just make sure your posts are on topic, don't make a "hi I'm new here!" thread, and most importantly...
