10,000 Volt Ghost Jan 11th, 2011 12:40 PM

yeah, bad times.

Shrubfest Jan 11th, 2011 02:45 PM

I watched it 2 days ago, because man wanted to.

I was told to keep my disgusted and derogatory comments quiet until the end.

kahljorn Jan 11th, 2011 03:42 PM

i remember when the preview for Wanted came out and it was like angelina jolie or brad pitt or some shit jumping up in the air and then a Ferrari or some shit drives by doing high-speed donuts and they land in the passengers seat and have smug faces

yea i never watched it ;/

10,000 Volt Ghost Jan 11th, 2011 07:00 PM

Kahl, we probably should watch this then. Then go and rent ferarris and jolies.

Mad Melvin Jan 11th, 2011 07:02 PM

Things I have watched recently:

Devil

It doesn't get much dumber than this. I don't know why I expected any better though, given the retarded premise. I laughed at the scene with the sandwich, so I guess thats a plus. Other than that, it stinks.

Megamind

Couple of good jokes. Pretty boring. I hate the voice of Jonah Hill.

Assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford

Must've been the fifth time i've seen this. One of my favourite movies ever. I can't quite figure out why I like this so much. It's just hypnotizing to watch and the soundtrack is awesome.

REC 2

What a pile of shit. The first one was ok (not the remake), but this is just insultingly bad.

127 hours

I've always liked Danny Boyle movies (Sunshine and Trainspotting being my favourites), and this is no exception. Very suspensful, especially since I didn't read anything about the story the movie was based on. I now have enormous respect for James Franco. He was amazing in this. Also, a big plus for the you-know-what scene. It was kinda hard to watch.

Porn

I just watched some. It was ok.

elx Jan 12th, 2011 06:16 AM

melvin did someone give you a demonoid invite yet?

No. You got one, or is this some cruel joke?

Samfucius Jan 12th, 2011 06:32 PM

Just re-watched High Noon with Gary Cooper. Goddamn, that is an awesome movie. And the politics surrounding it are pretty interesting too.

The fact that the movie is shot in real time (movie is 1:25 long, and takes place over 1:25) blows me away every time, because I think it was the first movie to do that.

Kitsa Jan 12th, 2011 07:18 PM

I tried to watch I Sell the Dead, but it was so damned stupid I had to stop.

Shrubfest Jan 13th, 2011 10:36 AM

Devil in Miss Jones.

Grapes? Snake? Silver massage oil? I'm really glad I don't live in the 70s.

I love the opening of the movie when satan shoots hellfire out of his junk.

Aaarg Jan 14th, 2011 11:12 AM

dracula: dead and loving it.

Kitsa Jan 14th, 2011 09:43 PM

Human Centipede

Remake of Death at a Funeral- completely unnecessary

Zhukov Jan 15th, 2011 03:14 AM

Despicable Me.

It was alright I suppose, but I cried at the end. I do that more often than not at kids movies now :\

Babs Jan 15th, 2011 06:28 AM

The Being, I mean what else could I expect from a monster who's domicile is within a landfill? Maybe a little more self respect and control.

Kitsa Jan 15th, 2011 02:14 PM

I cried watching "Up" :(

executioneer Jan 15th, 2011 08:14 PM

they didnt even have the decency to put all the sad parts at the end, either :( g-d movie

Kitsa Jan 15th, 2011 10:12 PM

King of California. It was better than I thought it would be, although I thought it kind of dragged in spots.

Tadao Jan 15th, 2011 10:33 PM

Yeah, I was warned about UP. No matter how many times I see it, it still makes me wet.

dextire Jan 16th, 2011 12:00 AM

UP is the second saddest movie I've ever seen, Marley & Me being the first.

Watched Tremors IV and it put me in the mood to watch the first three. :)

kahljorn Jan 16th, 2011 04:27 AM

oh god there was a fourth one?

isnt there a tremors tv show too??

even though UP was alright i hate it cause it exploits people's feelings

Fathom Zero Jan 16th, 2011 06:16 AM

Watched Disclosure. I usually don't watch movies made from books. This kinda reinforces my decision. :(

Tadao Jan 16th, 2011 02:51 PM

I like moves made from Crichton books. He'll re-write the script for the movie himself so that it's not as gay.

Fathom Zero Jan 17th, 2011 05:41 AM

It could've been worse. And it was a pretty long movie even though it got rid of a lot of stuff from the book, so I can't really say I dislike it for that. But I dunno. Maybe it's because it's just so damn dated by this point. I can just get past all of it when I read it.

I kinda want to see Prey as a movie, but I dunno that a movie could live up to it.

And Rising Sun is badass.

Pentegarn Jan 17th, 2011 07:21 AM

At least UP crushes you at the very beginning though. Nowhere to go but up from there.

Wait a minute....

Kitsa Jan 17th, 2011 11:41 AM

The Mermaid Chair. Absolutely fucking godawful. Kim Basinger is so very bad in this.

Fathom Zero Jan 17th, 2011 11:46 AM

What's up, Doc?

Ryan O'Neal is so good in this, it's scary. He's got a look that I've never seen on an actor elsewhere.

Kitsa Jan 18th, 2011 05:24 PM

One of those twilight movies, with my mom. I think it was the latest one.

Completely.

Fucking.

Asinine.

Babs Jan 18th, 2011 09:07 PM

Long live the new flesh.

kahljorn Jan 23rd, 2011 09:37 PM

i really dont want to watch Benjamin button but i was wondering if anyone had?

IF SO DOES HE COME OUT OF HIS MOMS VAGINA ALL gigANTIC AND WRINKLY AND SHE DIES HORRIBLY??? LIKE A SCENE FROM ALIENS MAYBE?

ALSO AT THE END OF THE MOVIE DOES HE TURN INTO A FETUS? THANKS.

Sam Jan 23rd, 2011 10:09 PM

IT ENDS WITH HIM BEING NOTHING BUT A PUDDLE OF SEMEN.

kahljorn Jan 24th, 2011 03:26 AM

I DONT THINK I CAN HANDLE PUDDLES OF SEMEN

Kitsa Jan 26th, 2011 09:10 AM

I watched it. I cried :( Then I was angry at myself.

lilithkrista Jan 26th, 2011 09:33 PM

I think I have watched Benjamin Button last year with a friend and it also came to my mind if he became fetus in the end. Anyways, have you guys watched Tangled? Just watched it last night.

Tadao Jan 26th, 2011 09:47 PM

How old is your kid Lilith?

Tadao Jan 27th, 2011 04:25 PM

Ghost Riders. I found it at the flea market this past weekend.
Unfortunately there were no skeleton outlaws on horses in it. :(

Mad Melvin Feb 9th, 2011 12:18 PM

The Experiment

American remake of an awesome German movie. Wouldn't you know it, the remake was terrible. Characters are paper-thin, nothing is explained and Forest Whitaker gets a boner on screen. Why would anyone want to see Forest Whitaker get a boner?

Dimnos Feb 11th, 2011 01:32 AM

I started watching Deadwood because they had it on demand. While its not the greatest fucking thing ever, it is better than what I had heard.

The Bourne Identity

Never watched any of the Bourne flicks, so I decided to give them a chance. A solid thriller. Not very memorable, but it was well paced and some of the action scenes were kinda cool. Clive Owen's character was the best part of the movie, but he got too little screen time. Gonna watch the sequel tomorrow.

Fathom Zero Feb 15th, 2011 06:45 PM

I watched it recently, as well. It's way better than I remember it being so I think I'll finish it on Netflix or something, if possible.

The cover looks badass as hell

dextire Feb 17th, 2011 01:05 AM

Indeed it does! That's part of the reason why I like buying old VHS movies.
That way even if the movie's not all that great, at least you get a nice cover. :)

The Uncanny. It's a pretty decent anthology movie.
The strange part is that the wrap-around story talks about how evil cats are, whereas the cats are sort of just punishing the wicked in all three cases.

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 17th, 2011 11:45 AM

Prince of Persia with Donnie Darko.

I was half expecting it to be good. Gyllenhaal was a terrible choice for the prince. That one guy would have been way better...what's his name...ANYONE.

I didn't know that Disney made it so maybe they terribled it up.

Kitsa Feb 17th, 2011 12:21 PM

Disney terribles a lot of stuff up.

Zhukov Feb 18th, 2011 01:36 PM

I didn't think it was god awful, but I didn't really like it that much either.

I just watched Super Mario Bros in it's entirety on Youtube. It certainly wasn't as bad as I had been led to believe, but then again, it was still pretty rubbish.

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 18th, 2011 02:04 PM

Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo are two of my favorite actors so I like Super Mario Bros for that at least. That and the rocket boots are awesome.

Tadao Feb 18th, 2011 04:15 PM

Star Trek - Reboot

Got bored and lost track of who is doing what. I have a real hard time caring anymore no matter how good the movie is. :(

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 18th, 2011 04:38 PM

That movie is really easy to staray on trek though.

Shit. Unfunny. People like these types of movies? I couldn't finish either of them.

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 19th, 2011 10:44 AM

Zhukov, those movies are great if you watched them for the first time in the american 90's :(

Spoilers!

Kitsa Feb 19th, 2011 01:53 PM

My brother loaned me "Easy A" and I suppose I need to watch it so I can return it, but that girl's one-liners annoyed the hell out of me in the previews.

Zhukov Feb 19th, 2011 09:42 PM

I was under the impression that that was a pornographic movie.

10K I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but I'm still glad that I can't test the theory.

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 19th, 2011 09:50 PM

Same thing with Don't be a menace. A lot of its just era humor.

All Hail Duke Feb 20th, 2011 02:40 AM

Kitsa Feb 20th, 2011 04:44 PM

Since I feel like shit today, I've been hanging out in bed, eating pop-tarts and watching movies. Got to Easy A, finally. Official diagnosis: not as inane as I'd feared. Plus, Malcolm McDowell in a movie always scores bonus points with me, not that they're worried about that.

I liked them when I was a kid for all the surprise nudity. I remember desperately watching every Leslie Nelson movie after I saw that part in Airplane! where they show a pair of tits for no reason.

The last half hour of

. I thought it was Kel Mitchell but it ended up being Sisqo.

I couldn't find the remote while feeding her yesterday morning. This movie was beyond bad.

Was watching the CHILLER station and they had a movie about the BTK(Bound Torture Kill) Killer. This was amazing to watch because it looked like it was made in the '80's but ended up being 2008.

There is another CHILLER original movie coming out next week too and it looks ridiculous.

Kitsa Feb 28th, 2011 07:40 PM

I have Triangle Fire DVR'd. It's the one that seems to have DVR'd itself. Can't wait to see it.

Mad Melvin Feb 28th, 2011 07:54 PM

Slumdog Millionaire.

I like it. Not Boyle's best, but a good movie nontheless.

Backdraft

I saw this when I was a kid and loved it. Not so much anymore. It still had some nostalgic charm, but it's really just a mindless popcorn flick with cheesy dialogue and overacting. I give it a plus for the plot, which is not as cliched as one might expect (it's still kinda cliched, though). Watchable.

Beneath Hill 60

Australian movie about WW1. That immediately got my attention, since WW1 isn't really used in films these days. WW2 on the other hand, fucking hell just stop it already. Beneath Hill 60 was about soldiers digging tunnels beneath the german lines. It was quite claustrophobic at times and the war looked as dirty and gritty as it propably was. Considering the small-ish budget, the effects were very well done and acting was pretty solid all the way through. It seemed to drag a little at times, but it was a good movie.

The Bourne Supremacy

MEH. I dunno what happened. The first one was good, but this looked like it was filmed by a hyperactive teenager on meth. There was a cut every 10 microseconds and it really started to grind my gears me halfway through the movie. A couple of cool scenes, but nothing special. Going to watch the third one soon.

Dimnos Feb 28th, 2011 10:43 PM

In Backdraft, is that guy taking an axe to the chest as bad ass as I remember?

10,000 Volt Ghost Mar 1st, 2011 11:03 AM

I feel like Matt Damon only takes roles where he's constantly running. He must have amazing cardio. Kind of how Cuba Gooding jr is typecast as "a guy in the navy."

Tadao Mar 1st, 2011 12:28 PM

Jr play a soldier a lot. If not that, a cop.

10,000 Volt Ghost Mar 1st, 2011 05:07 PM

Cuba:
Pearl Harbor - Sailor
Men of Honor - Navy
Jerry McGuire - His character may have played for NAVY in college
Rat Race - He might have taken a boat
What Dreams May Come - He drove a boat
A few good men - Wasn't he like a Navy seal in this one
Boat Trip - Seriously
Snow Dogs - Sled dogging over frozen ice = still a sailor

Tadao Mar 1st, 2011 05:19 PM

Yeah, I could also find just as many marine/army movies. I don't think I even watched any of those you listed.

Tadao Mar 1st, 2011 05:21 PM

I didn't mean it to come off as YOU ARE WRONG. I meant it to come off as THEY SURE LIKE TO PUT HIM IN A UNIFORM.

10,000 Volt Ghost Mar 1st, 2011 06:01 PM

Every movie I've seen him in he goes Nautical. Much more than any other actor. He probably directed waterworld.

Tadao Mar 1st, 2011 06:28 PM

Two off the top of my head are The Way of War and The Devils Tomb. The Way of War is awesome BTW.

Tadao Mar 1st, 2011 06:35 PM

10,000 Volt Ghost Mar 1st, 2011 07:02 PM
