I watched some French film about art and love. It was good, but excruciatingly boring - luckily for me my friend's sister was having loud sex in the room next door.
|
One day... not that excited about it, but maybe it's just me being too sarcastic.
|
night of the living dead - great
return of the living dead - silly duck you sucker/a fistful of dynamite - too damn long |
^ Love Return of the living dead trilogy, 2nd one is my favorite though.
I started watching duck you sucker as well but got disinterested. Starting watching season of the witch. Nicholas cage hasn't been set on fire yet but theres still half of a movie to go. |
we'll probably watch the others someday, as we're prone to do that.
man, know what's an awesome trilogy that gets better as it progresses? it's alive. duck you sucker gets less interesting as it goes along, to be honest. after a while the plot gets boring and the awful accents get increasingly hard to swallow. |
return of the living dead 2 is kind of silly but also amazingly awesome. its got all the same actors playing pretty much the same characters from the first one.
I watched the Its alive movies when I was real young(maybe 10) and they kind of creeped me out. Haven't seen them since though. |
aw, lame, i didn't like any of the characters in the first one! i liked the split dogs and the butterfly specimens and i think the highlight of the movie was when they pierced the cadaver's head with the pick ax and it didn't kill him and the kid was like "THE MOVIE LIED?!?" i laughed way more than i should have, at that.
it's alive is great. the second one is all right. the third one is the most over-the-top and it has michael moriarty and he's great (as seen in THE STUFF (just can't get enough (of the stuff))) and also the ending is the best. [spoilers]an evil baby survives, for the only time in the series. [/spoilers] but there was a remake a few years ago and it's atrocious. really. and it sort of gets this anti-abortion vibe as it progresses. and it's just bad. |

the expendables
what a piece of shit |
I watched Batman: Year One. What a stinker. I've said it before and I'll say it again: why does all American animation have to look like anime now? It's not even as if they're taking inspiration from anime and using a few similar techniques, they're actually trying to make it look Japanese. I picture directors standing over the animator's shoulders saying, "it's not stiff and awkward enough yet, make it look more Japanese." Alot of the style of anime is down to Japanese animation studios producing more material on a smaller budget than their American counterparts and therefore having to cut corners with generic designs, recycled shots, stiff action and one syllable mouths. And everyone wants to copy it? Pathetic.
I've been watching Batman: The Animated Series this week too and it's astonishing that it's now almost 20 years old and had more character, style and substance to the animation than this horrendous piece of garbage Batman: Year One. I've read alot of criticism about the voice acting. I didn't think it was that bad. |
Tomorrow Never Dies I never noticed till now how over-the-top Johnathan Pryce was in this movie. Not much of a Bond film IMO, if the film had came out in 2002 it might've been more relevant with its message of global media.
|
I remember thinking when that came out how ridiculous the storyline was, but you're right, as time has gone on it's become better. If some of the more ludicrous aspects like the guy owning a stealth boat were dialled down it would probably make a good Daniel Craig film. I really like the opening scene at the arms fair.
I used to always think Goldeneye was the best of the Brosnan movies. I watched it recently though and it's weird how everything about it on paper sounds great but is executed so poorly. I feel sorry for Brosnan, being one of the best Bonds in the worst Bond movies. |
I really really really really really really like Goldeneye. It's second only to Goldfinger, for me. Diamonds Are Forever brings up the tail end.
And The Living Daylights is really good, too. The rest of the movies involving Blofeld are good, as well. |
The Thing (2011)
Not as bad as I expected. I kinda liked it, actually. It wasn't that good of a movie plotwise and there was pretty much zero characted developement, but I really like the fact that they made this movie with the utmost respect for the original. It ties really well to the things we see in the norwegian camp in the John Carpenter's version. The special effects were pretty good and the movie was entertaining from beginning to end. The thing that sucks the most about this film, is the pacing. It was too damn hectic. There was no time to develop any of the characters and it really puts a dent on the tension and atmosphere when you parade the alien on screen just after 20 minutes. I'm really hoping for a director's cut version. |

I just love that villain archetype and he's the epitome of it. I'd probably see the next one if that were so.

How much screen time did Foozie get?
|

I'm a little curious about Darkest Hour but probably not enough to go see it in a theater.

|
I loved the Muppets movie! Fart jokes excluded, seemed kinda forced.
|

Norm Macdonald's new stand up. It was hilarious.
|
Kimjongilia. It's on Netflix.
Really liked it but could have done without the interpretive dance. |
I realize you're not joking, but you still made me :lol.
|
Sherlock Holmes 2, and apparently he and Watson are kung fu martial arts masters. Pretty sure thats not book accurate, but whatever, it was alright. And ladies: come for the Jude Law, stay for the naked Stephen Fry.
|
nothing at all wrong with naked stephen fry.
|
I found this, and no, that's not what I was googling.
Facebook Page: Violently Masturbating to the Thought of Stephen Fry Naked |
I got Cowboys vs Aliens for Christmas. I liked it.
At least the Aliens were actually bad guys instead of just misunderstood. |
Starship Troopers and Starship Troopers 2 back-to-back.
I knew the second was going to be bad, but it's absolutely terrible. :lol It did have The Sentinel in it though. |

Sherlock Holmes: Game Of Shadows and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Both films made me laugh.
|
I really liked game of shadows.
This is for Aaarg and possibly Kahljorn that might get this reference. At the two minute mark. When I played tekken 3 as eddy I would always chant XXX OOO XO XO XO XO XXX OOO XXO XXXOOX OO while doing copeira moves just to piss him off. |

|
Sorry to give away the ending :(
|

|
Stranger Than Fiction
It was pretty good, actually. Original idea and Will Ferrell was ok in a more serious role. The Departed It's been a couple of years since I last saw this. I think I liked it even more than I did the first time. Good movie and Mark Wahlberg's character was still pretty funny. The only thing that stood out as a negative was Jack Nicholson's irish accent. It was horribly fake. |
To me Mark Walhberg can do anything and I'd prob watch it.
|
I Heart Huckabee's was awesome. Cowboys and Aliens is the fucking shit, go see it.
Anyone ever heard of The Music Never Stopped? J.K. Simmons is the lead in it. It really the only movie I've seen that I could really call "the happiest/saddest movie ever". Really, really good flick. |
the running man

Chronicle. I'd suggest it is a must see.
Not really a spoiler, but there was one moment in the movie where I yelled "Oh My God!" and I never do that. I was expecting snarky looks from my fellow moviegoers, yet most of them said much the same thing. |
Not really a movie, but I watched Terry Pratchett's documentary "Choosing to die". :tear
It was really hard to watch and I never want to see it again. Still, it was an important documentary and everyone should see it. |
Parts of the King of Fighters movie. I don't want to partially watch it again but I do want to know why people were shooting lightning at other people.
|
I loved the lorax growing up, when they made horton hears a who I was hoping they would eventully do the lorax. The lorax was announced a while ago but I just found out Danny Devito was playing him. <3

The Big Year. Good movie. Much more about birds than I thought it was going to be.
|
Last Film(s) You Watched
Thor was the last movie which I have seen in theaters.......
|
Just saw a WWII movie from the 70s called Cross of Iron. It was Germans on the Eastern front, in English language. Pretty much sucked.
Boring, plenty of cliches and historical inaccuracies, and it had a very underwhelming ending. Somebody told me to watch it, as it was supposedly a classic. One of the characters was casually talking about how tough it was in the encirclement of Stalingrad... despite everyone who survived being a POW until at least the 1950s. That really annoyed me. |
Samurai Cop (1989)
It was awesome. Nothing in this movie worked. The acting was godawful, the plot made little sense, the dialogue was very odd and there were unnecessary sex scenes just to show boobs to the audience. A little taste of the awfulness: |
That sounds delicious.
|
that guys ugly and he has a tiny dick
how am i supposedto connect with samurai cop |
poltergeist
boogie nights the outsiders a good way to kill time |
Conan O Brien Can't Stop.
Or maybe it was called Can't Stop. I don't know. I guess I was hoping he'd be more likeable. |
^ I started to watch that and then shut it off soon after.
|
I'm sure it was supposed to be the journey of a tortured brilliant soul or some such shit but he really came off as a dick in the final edit.
|
Just rented "Sunset Limited" with Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson. Can't remember when I laughed so hard! Also watched "Bad Lieutenant" starring Nickolas Cage. Loved the lizards! "Fight Club", greatest movie ever made!!!
