That happened to me once. Except the users on that site's forum were enemies of the users on that site's front page.

One time I joined a forum and posted a link to my Magic teh Gathering cards I had for sale on Ebay.

I once made a site and then started up a forum for it and joined said forum. I still think we have a lot in common.

One time I joined a bread forum just to inquire where one might purchase some high-grade, low-cost yeast but all the forum members were belligerent jerks and generally made me feel unwelcome. Those were some tough times.

One time i joined a forum and all the members were those fat kids who whine about how nobody likes them and i can't help myself but to laugh my ass off and post the sound clip there and i got banned. GOOD TIMES.
