Cookiepuss!

i am sorry we did eat the mouth before the picture could be taken
this was strictly a security measure to ensure that the cookiepuss did not find us equally delicious before we could tear into its icy cookiepuss flesh

I hope this isn't a regional thing. 'The Critic' mentioned a cookiepuss once, so hopefully you've all been able to share your lives with one at one point in time.

A cookiepuss is an ice cream cake with an ice cream cone nose and cookies for eyes and frosting and gel and sprinkles and some chocolate crumbles separating the vanilla and chocolate ice cream that makes up most of the cake.

It is $19.99 at Carvel stores, but you usually have to order them a few hours beforehand so that they can prepare and freeze it. This one wasn't particularly well frozen.

I was going to put this in the cookiepuss forum but figured you all here in GB could benefit instead.

Here is a reference picture of a complete cookiepuss for the purposes of DISCUSSION:

See, it has little gloved hands, too.

JJ_Maniac Jun 24th, 2008 10:13 PM

Holy. Shit. That, my friends, is GLORY personified. One thing I can't figure out though. Are they referring to "puss" as a face, or is that supposed to be a cat? Gotta love the huge spaced out eyes.

10,000 Volt Ghost Jun 24th, 2008 10:13 PM

Should have gotten a Fudgie the whale instead, he's delicious.

Kitsa Jun 24th, 2008 10:16 PM

I've only heard of Cookiepuss on Family Guy, which also mentioned a "Cookie-O-Puss". We don't even have a Fudgie the Whale, although he sends me persistent spam.

Hereabouts, "Carvel" is mainly a pink-trimmed freezer case that contains various dried-out , fairly generic-looking, and inordinately expensive ice cream cakes.

10,000 Volt Ghost Jun 24th, 2008 10:25 PM

Cookie-o-Puss only comes out around St Paddy's day to get in a drunken fight with Uncle-o-Grimacy. I prefer the Shamrock shake over the O-Puss, it's the shite.

JediScum Jun 24th, 2008 10:33 PM

"Cookiepuss" is also a obscure, hard to find to find Ep by the Beastie Boys. I may still have it somewhere. But i never knew the food reference.

Now i can harass grocery stores as well as music outlets, when i yell, "Kick down with the Cookiepuss!!"

glowbelly Jun 24th, 2008 11:38 PM

it's not that obscure.

and is that ice cream?

Chojin Jun 25th, 2008 01:11 AM

it's an ice cream CAKE which is totally different for reasons which will come to me

and i think the 'puss' just refers to it looking like a face, although for all i know it could be something more sinister :eek

Mockery Jun 25th, 2008 01:19 AM

Fuck YES. Carvel has been my favorite ice cream / cake place since I was a little kid. My granddad used to take me there all the time and I remember the Cookiepuss cakes very well. Good times :(

Chojin Jun 25th, 2008 01:26 AM

oh no :o

also the eye is fucked up because the kitten took a flying leap on top of the cookiepuss and landed his foot in the eye, then walked all around the house shaking his foot and spraying whipped cream everywhere

Mockery Jun 25th, 2008 01:43 AM

Haha, I can just picture that... wish you had a video of him shaking his foot like that.

Sethomas Jun 25th, 2008 02:26 AM

Yes, Chojin mentioned The Critic. I will LINK to The Critic.

I heard about the beastyboys album a while ago and immediately decided If I ever got another cat it'd be called cookiepuss.

Yeah, I have it on CD and tape. These pussy crumbs are making me itch etc etc. I didn't know it was so big, oh!

Guitar Woman Jun 25th, 2008 01:25 PM

I had a dream about this thing last night!

It was delicious!

It was also alcoholic, but that's probably just hopeless fantasy

Fathom Zero Jun 25th, 2008 01:27 PM

They are delicious. I had one for my eighth birthday. It was like eating a Tonka truck. In a good way.

Sacks Jun 25th, 2008 03:23 PM

The way you had destroyed the face in the first picture lead me to believe he had a n absolutely fabulous moustache. Have you ever considered asking for facial hair when you call in ahead of time?

JJ_Maniac Jun 25th, 2008 06:35 PM

Am I the only one who's never, in my life, seen one of these before? Maybe it's just because I live in Canada? Are they popular in the States?

Chojin Jun 25th, 2008 07:04 PM

MY EYES

YOU FOOL WHAT HAVE YOU DONE

ARE YOU NOT AWARE THAT WITHOUT THEIR PROTECTIVE EYE COVERINGS COOKIEPUSSES BECOME CORRUPTED AND TRANSFORM INTO THE OMEGAPUSS??

This is most disturbing.

Chojin Jun 25th, 2008 07:05 PM

I have no idea how regional the majestic cookiepuss is, jj. It's a carvel product, so if you don't have carvel stores in canada, it would stand to reason that your country is SANS-'PUSS.

I should also mention that the 'puss in that youtube link is either very tiny, or that nice man in armor is very large. A fully-grown adult cookiepuss is about 14-16 inches in length.

darkvare Jun 25th, 2008 07:58 PM

i must taste that i'm going to your town just to eat one

Esuohlim Jun 25th, 2008 09:55 PM

I've never heard of one of these either and I feel slightly empty because of that :tear

Asila Jun 25th, 2008 10:18 PM

We just recently got Carvels in our area, though I remember them vividly from my childhood. My childhood was not, obviously, spent in this area.
I feel the sudden nostalgic need to go and visit one tomorrow.

Chojin Jun 25th, 2008 10:32 PM

make sure you call ahead - it takes them hours upon hours to craft a cookiepuss, which to me is hilarious, considering that each one is only 20 bucks.

Kitsa Jun 25th, 2008 11:20 PM

You can achieve something similar to the cookie filling by combining crushed oreos with a jar of that smucker's hot fudge stuff. It's also similar to the filling in Dairy Queen ice cream cakes.

I's just sayin'.

Sacks Jun 26th, 2008 02:50 AM

I'm getting one of these tomorrow. It's Cookie Puss hysteria.
