Im not saying that Sonic completely sucks, but at this point, I just think that sega should just give the License to a developer other than Sonic Team. Maybe do what Nintendo did with metroid and hand it over to an American Developer who can possibly redeem the series. (Not saying that metroid was in need of redemption, but to show that sonic needs to go into a different direction.)

The first two 3-D sonic games were ok, but far from perfect, but they sold well, so Sonic Team just stopped trying. Because if it has a blue hedgehog on the cover of the box, then people will buy it (a point made in the thead already). If BioWare can turn Sonic into a Decent RPG, then im sure another developer can make and excellent platformer.

I doubt it. Games these days are notorious for being changed up or being generic, with an excpetion to a few.
People will take a game, bend it over and rape it just to please a handful of fans who will buy it up readily.
The old Sonic died, and this new one isnt even classy enough to piss on the grave.

Got a few games as gifts this year, and a relative got me this because I used to think Sonic was awesome.

Worst controls I've ever had the misfortune to experience. And I own a Wii. The speed levels would be awesome if the game wasn't so buggy like every other Sonic game. Hit detection is borked (that goes double for the wolf stages) and the controls aren't the least bit responsive (again, double for the wolf).

Sometimes I'd press jump multiple times in the air and watch Sonic fall instead of home in on an enemy. I tried with every controller, just incase batteries were low or whatever. It's the game, and other people had the same complaints.

Plus, why the hell is there a world map if nothing happens and all you do is advance some text? I don't care about these ugly characters and I just want to get to the part where I'm playing a video game. It's kinda sad, because the level design for the speed stages is stellar. Plus there's THREE wolf stages for every hedgehog stage.

I beat it the other day so that I could finally be done with it. The final world has FIVE wolf stages and only ONE speed stage. What the hell? Other times, there would be three or four wolf stages, but the game wanted to make sure that the Okay to Shit ratio was 90000:1.
