Free Dr Pepper - Chinese Democracy

http://www.popeater.com/music/articl...for-all/256424

Since Guns and Roses released Chinese Democracy in 2008(Finally....but who cares) Dr Pepper is giving everyone in the U.S a free can of Dr. Pepper.

On the dr pepper website starting at 12:01am 11/23/08 there will be coupons available. As far as I know you don't have to buy the album. Just enjoy the rich flavor of DP.

I hate GandR enough to turn down free useful stuff.

LittleDollClaudia Nov 23rd, 2008 12:02 AM

Axl is the supreme leader of douchebags.

I enjoyed GNR in the early years, I did.

But c'mon man, without Slash, you're just another washed up rock star trying to relive your glory days.

Has anyone seen that idiot (Axl, not Slash) lately? Did he turn Rasta when no one was looking?

You're heavy metal, not Jamaican! Get rid of the damn dreads.

"But he's on Myspace. He's cool, right?"

UH-HUH.

MattJack Nov 23rd, 2008 01:57 AM

slash is on myspace too

Aaarg Nov 23rd, 2008 02:09 AM

YOU"RE ON MYSPACE!!

LittleDollClaudia Nov 23rd, 2008 05:27 AM

^I'm sure that most of us are, but I know that I'm not trying to resurrect a rock career in an almost Jesus type of miracle by exploiting the 14 year olds that troll Myspace. ^

Slash, on the other hand, has had several successful voyages back into the limelight.

He's not like other posers that scream "look at me, look at me" by whoring themselves out to Tom and his gazillion followers.

He just is..awesome. And that's good enough for me. Plus him being majorly talented is a benefit as well.

you should have said this about dr pepper, then you would have been acceptable.

Grislygus Nov 24th, 2008 04:34 PM

I listened to this, it seriously sounds like a knockoff of the new ozzy album. which is sadder than usual for Axl

Tadao Nov 24th, 2008 04:49 PM

I wonder if Axe body smell offered him a commercial.

Yeah, it's an incredibly obscure album called "Black Rain", only released in Greenland and some parts of Milwaukee

pac-man Nov 24th, 2008 05:13 PM

So who collected their free Dr. Pepper?

Colonel Flagg Nov 24th, 2008 05:20 PM

Well, it apparently doesn't play all that well in China.

http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=341017

Are they objecting to the general suckage of the music, I wonder?

Their website has been overloaded since sunday.

pac-man Nov 24th, 2008 05:41 PM

I noticed... :(

I want my goddamned soda.

Damn Dirty Hippopotamus Nov 24th, 2008 10:01 PM

I refuse to drink Dr. Pepper if it means supporting Guns & Roses. Axel Rose sucks and Slash does nothing but show off. I wouldn't look at slash for extreme "talent" as far as guitarist go.

pac-man Nov 24th, 2008 10:40 PM

You wouldn't be supporting GNR, you'd be supporting Dr. Pepper's mockery of the fact that it took GNR so long to release the album.

Damn Dirty Hippopotamus Nov 24th, 2008 10:49 PM

Oh wait, it's a bottle? I do enjoy bottled Dr. Pepper.

Actually I could go for a nice Route 44 Vanilla Dr. Pepper from Sonic right now.

It better not.

Now GNR is threatening legal action because the free Dr. Pepper promotion "ruined the day of Chinese Democracy's release."

10,000 Volt Ghost Nov 28th, 2008 11:17 PM

From the suit letter:

It turned out that Dr Pepper did not define ‘everyone in America’ the same way as ‘everyone in America’ defined ‘everyone in America.’”

:lol What a joke. I like how GNR stated that this fiasco of a stunt ruined Chinese Democracy's release. First off, who releases an album on a sunday??? Secondly....I heard it didn't sound good either. I think Mr. Rose is just trying to get a Mulligan on his album.

There's a difference between waiting 10 years to make an album and making an album for 10 years. If you take 10 years to release something it better bring world peace. You don't get do overs.

pac-man Nov 28th, 2008 11:24 PM

Folks in Dr. Pepper's legal department are likely laughing their asses off and trying to figure out how they can use this to get more publicity off of GNR's ineptitude.

Apparently they don't realize that making a huge hullabaloo about it will get both of them a ton of publicity. Kind of like that whole bruhaha over that Satanic Verses thing. Probably no one would have looked at 'em if the Ayatollah hadn't called for the Muslims to kill the author and publishers.
