Laser-cut wooden sculpture
17x17x0.25_MDF(6) -- i made this between yesterday and today for a student show at umass lowell called "materiality" top and side views: all the pieces in the show are supposed to be about material... so i decided to take 6 pieces of medium density fiberboard and cut 10 cubes out of them and put them inside eachother. yup |
That's fucking awesome. I wish I had a laser that could cut stuff.
That's cool looking. How much did that cost in total?
i went to lowe's looking for 1/4 inch MDF and they just happen to have some that was sent to them by accident, so the guy only charged me 5 bucks for a sheet that was 4'x10'
the cutting took awhile though; about an hour and a half for each sheet |
That's awesome!
That's some trippy shit brah
damn, dude, that's awesome.
you neeeeeeeeeed to paint them all. different colors. maybe alternating colors, or differing shades of a single color... aaawwwww man. |
Screw THAT. It's cool as fuck, yes, but the visual quality of the wood itself adds to it. If you MUST color it, I'd recommend staining it. Paint covers and masks material texture to a marked and certain extent... but a selective interior black trim might add emphasis :artfag
Spray it with chalk board paint and then you can color it over and over again. Or maybe shiny mirror like paint.
eh, its about material so i don't want to mask the wood. plus, the black parts and just burned wood and thats aesthetic enough
fags. i like color is all, haha.
That's pretty awesome actually. I like how the center juts are staggered so it not only has draw distance but it looks like it is winding as well.
You could sell that for $200. How many hours did it take?
You could sell that for more than 200.
If I could, I would give you the world for that, bigtimecow.
