Suggestion for people in need of image hosting.

If you people would all ban together and get hosting at any place, it would cost you like 100 bux a year total. Get 20 people to sign up, and that's 5 bux a year. Then you guys could all just have whatever images you need hosted uploaded to the same server.

I only suggest it because I see so many of you always asking about where a good place to host an image would be... and the problem would be solved if just one of you signed up for hosting and the rest pitched in to pay for it.

I concur that they should be banned together.

I can set up a free Angelfire site for anyone who wants one. Not great, but enough to host a couple of images without a problem.

angelfire is shit for image hosting actually, keep away. It's not like 5-10 bux per month (divided by 10-20 people) would really hurt anybody financially. Someone should just collect names of people who would go in on the hosting deal, then pick a host and sign up.

Yeah, but who's gonna register for a site that makes you pay $100 a month?

Cap'n Crunch Dec 12th, 2003 05:36 PM

I think I can host some avatars on my space on reznor.org. Just pm me or something. :(

You can register at numerous places for a measly 5 bux a month and that will cover the image hosting for pretty much everybody on this board.

Schimid Dec 12th, 2003 06:30 PM

Yeah, but you said...

aw nevermind can i buy a shirt? :(

I've got the best suggestion out of all of them. www.Picturetrail.com It's only good because its free.

liquidstatik Dec 12th, 2003 06:37 PM

That's a good idea but, who would set it up? I mean... how do they know everybody who says they will pay will pay. And if they don't pay after the account is set up... then the person who set it up is screwed. :-/

No, because with just about any decent host, you can get out of the hosting deal immediately. Half the time they have a 30-day money back guarantee too...

liquidstatik Dec 12th, 2003 06:51 PM

TRU.
I know of a good host for the people who are willing to do this.

5 bux a month for FILE HOSTING, and they've been very reliable for strangepuppets.com so far.

Evil Robot Dec 12th, 2003 08:39 PM

Nobody listen to me, I only know how to get FREE FUCKING PICTURE HOSTING, for free (which means you don't pay). So basicaly, you dont need to pay since it's free (which means YOU DON'T PAY.).

Indeed, and I don't think people should leech their bandwidth anyway (or any site's bandwidth). I used to talk with one of the founders of that site on a regular basis when he ran another site... learned a lot of good photoshop tips from him back in the day when I was just starting out.

AChimp Dec 12th, 2003 09:51 PM

I have a suggestion...

HOW ABOUT USING THE SPACE THAT YOUR ISP PROVIDES?

And if they don't provide space, it's because they're a shitty ISP and you should switch. Every Internet account should come with an e-mail address and at least 10MB of space. >:

i never said to put useless pictures there... sig pics don't have to be useless. a few of my friends always do artsy shit for their sigs and host them there

Evil Robot Dec 13th, 2003 01:35 AM

I made a website with the space provided by my ISP (thanks for reminding me I had that Achimp!) I suggest you go there if you don't think dogs can hate the internet.
