dude, its graphics are going to be revoutionary. fps games have come a long way since the first doom. Granted I dont think it is going to live up to the hype, I do think it is going to be a very well done game and worth playing.

its like saying there should never be any sequels to games, becasue after all they all seem to have the same cahracters with better graphics.

i doubt that, the new doom appears to be a revolutionary engine that nto mant peopel can run effectively, wheras the new half life looks to be one of the best games ever made, that can be played on a 700 Hz machine. Valve is probably tyhe #2 software company right now in my eye, with blizzard being first. valve has a focus on the fans not common in gaming, what with being one the first to buy a mod and sell it ( counterstrike for those who do not know and have been living in a spider hole for 5 years)

actually, my computer can RUN doom 3.... just not very well, (i have a duron 1.3 with a 100 mhz fsb and 416 mb pc 133 sdram, my gfx card is an obsolete geforce 2 ti200 pro. however it still gets the game up, just doesnt run it very well because the graphics are too intense. so im sure there are plenty of computers out there that can run doom 3 effectively and enjoyably, because if my POS obsolete box can run it, then im sure any comp with a 2.6ghz+, 512mb ram, and a geforce 4ti4600 and up/radeon 9800 pro will run it fine) i linger along at a BLISTERING 3 frames per second (BTW, i play the leaked demo AND THE GRAPHICS KICK MAJOR ASS!) if anyone wants to know where to get the leaked demo just reply to this post. i warn you though, you have to have a damn good computer if you plan on playing it. i cant actually "PLAY" it, i just lag around with my crappy framerate only to look at the new models and shaith. all i can tell you guys is this... doom 3 will pwn. the graphics are phenomenal and the gameplay looks promising (i cant really tell because of how slow it runs on my comp). and yes, its true, it more than likely wont live up the the hype all of the fiends have created for it. however it is still be a damn good game with amazing graphics.

i seriously thought more ppl would have played doom 3 by now...

Actually I've heard that Halflife 2 also runs like crap on machines that are WELL over 1.0 ghz and with a state of the art graphics card.

The doom3 E3 beta was scary.

The games DOES have nice lighting effects. I will give it that.

Multiiplayer is supposedly only 4 player.. Where is the fun in that. Quake 4 will kick its ass.
