some people just need to shut up
I'm on the yahoo group email list for updates with what's going on in the deaf community around new england, you wouldn't believe what they complain about over there. here's an example of what i got today...
-------------------------------- They have talking ATM for the blind; what about ATM in ASL (American Sign Language) for the deaf and blind?? Comments About Fleet Bank's ASL Accessibility?? Questions, comments, or complaints about any of these services can be made: * In person at a Fleet Branch * call them blah blah blah * visit this website blah blah --------------------------------- there's a law that requires all atm machines to have braille. how often would a deaf and blind person go to banks alone without a companion or an interpreter? how would they get around without one anyway? a walking stick isnt gonna do much for them. oh yeah and deaf and blind can't drive...nor can the blind with hearing. just shut up already! |
They should shut up 'cause they talk funny! And blind people just can't see it! And they all need to get out of MY way at the ATM becuase it's MY money because I'm a JEW! I HATE DARKIES!
Hi Geggy. I hope your Salem X-mas was all witchy. |
Weee!!!!!!!!!1
Blind people eat chipmunks cuz they think they're glazed walnuts with mustard.
|
That was terrible.
|
I've never figured out why the drive through ATM has braille on it...
|
So that blind people can read it.

HOW THE FUCK WOULD A BLIND PERSON EVEN FUCKING SEE AN ATM WITH SIGN LANGUAGE. AND ANOTHER THING, WHY THE FUCK WOULD THEY NEED ONE WITH SIGN LANGUAGE, BECAUSE IF YOU ARE FUCKING WHINING ABOUT IT ON THE INTERNET, WHY CAN'T YOU JUST FUCKING READ IT, BECAUSE YOU CAN OBVIOUSLY FUCKING TYPE. >: |

blind people who are also deaf understand sign language by having it done in their hands.
haven't any of you seen helen keller? >: |
So you are saying that if they put their hands on the ATM screen and it signs, they will be able to understand it. Thats actually quite simple.
I read about signing in the hands as communication for deaf & blind people in "The Miracle Worker" too. |
i'm not SAYING anything >:
|
OMG are you a mute? I am sorry if we have offended you :(
|
blind people pretend there driving cars at night with there hands out streched steering around empty parking lots , sometimes bumping into a stray ATM only to remove all the fives leaving us with twenties.
|
.
When I got rid of my first car I donated it to a center for the blind. :lol
|
Why would you make fun of someone who can't help the way they where born. I worked with a deaf kid once, and he was one of the coolest people I know. Sure I had to write down everything I was saying to him. Bonus, he showed me how to say "fuck you, you stupid little bitch' in sign language. :)
|
What about those who are deaf, dumb, and blind? Shoulden't ATMs come with pinball machines so they can communicate with it too? We aren't thinking about everyone's rights equally here folks.
|
They can get people to help them.
|
The bank gives them a braille pamphlet with their account which explains the steps of the transaction in sequence and where the correct buttons are located (and/or how they're labeled) and the blind person basically has to memorize the transaction beforehand ... or, as previously mentioned, they bring along a family member, friend or caretaker. Most states offer limited assistance for basic needs like this.
