Trigger Comic art

My friend Bridget made this for me. This was suppost to be one of the main characters in this comic we were going to make, but then Bridget kinda fell off the earth. And I haven't talked to her in awhile.

FartinMowler Mar 4th, 2004 07:08 AM

very cool...

liquidstatik Mar 9th, 2004 11:20 AM

I think so. :)

rainbowbrite Mar 11th, 2004 12:29 PM

Trigger. your not a half-bad drawer yourself. why dont you just make it on your own?

Spectre X Mar 11th, 2004 02:14 PM

It's not horrible, but it's not good either. It has anatomy issues etc. But since the person who drew it isn't here my crits are kinda futile. :(

Anonymous Mar 11th, 2004 08:10 PM

I wasn't going to say anything earlier, but who on earth are you to criticize drawing technique?

The One and Only... Mar 11th, 2004 09:26 PM

His torso is incredibly thin, and he could use a shave... still, pretty good.

Comrade Rocket Mar 12th, 2004 02:33 AM

Yeah I know he's skinny, but he is suppost to look like that. The whole story was that he was kind of a hero who got powers one day and didnt know what to do. He works in a small town and is looked down upon by the more popular super heros because hes a one horse town hero. He also had a partner but she wasnt nearly as cool.

Kinda the "really doesnt want to be a hero" thing.

Edit- yeah i can draw, but not that good. And his body type is based on my own. Ask RainbowBrite, i am really that skinny :/

Sorry for stating facts and honestly trying helping someone to improve upon their style.

What facts? The quality of a work is subjective, so saying that it's good or bad is not a fact. You point out anatomy issues, but fail to mention anything in particular. Yes, the proportions do not match up completely with the human form. But did it occur to you that the artist may not have been striving for realism? Artists ARE allowed to play with the human form and exaggerate it.
Anyway, as for myself, I quite like it.

rainbowbrite Mar 12th, 2004 12:56 PM

Here here!

Spectre X Mar 12th, 2004 01:20 PM

Oh, yeah, I was talking about the anatomy. Not my opinion. If this is what the artist had in mind, great.

Supafly345 Mar 12th, 2004 01:53 PM

I think it is akward, unpreportional, and unimaginative. I can tell this artists skill level, and they definitely didn't plan ahead for this drawing. The pose is unnatural, and not in a cool way; it looks like he is holding in a large bowel movement and can't sit comfortably.

And this is just plan generic, very unoriginal and very uninspired- look, he is wearing twinkies on his feet for heaven's sake. And damn the inapropriate, is that a scyth? He is a very boring character, and looks like the artist knew this. Or at least I hope they did. They need to put a little imagination in their work, because the talent is being abused by silent pieces.

And Specter is right, it is dis-proportional in an ugly way. And it is clear that it was unintentional as well. So unless the artist was trying to imitate someone that is bad with proportions, any word they say to it purposly being that way will be a lie.

Mockery Mar 12th, 2004 04:55 PM

You had better listen to him Trigger... after all, he is the authority on creative and original artwork...

maggiekarp Mar 12th, 2004 06:18 PM

One time I drew a picture of Mog kicking Umaro in the balls.

Someone said his foot looked like a giant penis.

I don't like art critics :(

Definately like the art style here... spiffy blood on the scythe. Good emotion of the situation, I think. Bridget gets a star.

Cap'n Crunch Mar 12th, 2004 08:02 PM

I PLAN OUT DRAWINGS DAYS BEFORE I DRAW THEM. :lol THANKS FOR THE TIP SUPAFLY.

Supafly345 Mar 12th, 2004 08:28 PM

You are indeed welcome Crunch, it'll come in handy. Really take a look at it, good lord that is hideous. I think anyone who draws similar should be burned and beaten. And what is with the bent blade instead of a curved one? What is this supposed to be? Expressionism? That is just a cheap 4-year olds way of making something interesting. Jeese, I was laughing before, but now I am crying at how pitiful this puny drawing is.
If he is supposed to be so skinny, where on earth are his ribs? Specter will back me up on this one; come on, basic human anatomy has full ribcages, no matter how skinny you are. I am sure the artist has pages of explanations to go with this now, "what I was trying to achieve was, like, ya know, a cool effect!" Yeah, by making someone that defies the laws of science? How can he even stand up under his own power, if there isn't even enough room for a heart in his chest? This just makes me so... unreasonably frustrated.

Schimid Mar 12th, 2004 08:33 PM

Dude.

kahljorn Mar 12th, 2004 08:36 PM

I thought that said COSMIC TRIGGER, fucking Anton Wilson Plagurizer.

Rongi Mar 12th, 2004 08:56 PM

You're kind of a weiner, supa

Emu Mar 12th, 2004 11:21 PM

Is the big blue T supposed to be there or is it something that bled through? :o

wouldnt it make sense to beat then burn? it would be gross to punch a melted person.

I really like how you make that sound like such a dirty word :lol

Anonymous Mar 13th, 2004 04:02 AM

My point is that Spectre has the tendency to draw things that used to end up in the fan art section of Nintendo Power, coupled with the Artist's name and the age in a single digit.

People are always complaining that you shouldn't criticize something until you've done it, but I disagree. I think that both those versed in the subject and those with no experience should voice an opinion, but those who just openly suck at it should shut it for fear of polluting the talent pool.

Seriously. :|
