Freddy + Disney? It's true!....

I was playing a disney game known as Toontown. (It seems Childish, But it's actually pretty good!) And NOTHING, And I mean NOTHING prepared me for what was in a Childish Lalala Disney game, One of the streets is Known as ELM STREET!

Flynn Mar 5th, 2004 02:56 AM

Shouldn't this topic be in Gaming? Just a thought...

ProfessorCool Mar 5th, 2004 02:56 AM

Oh wow, elm street, you know I use to live on a Elm street, i got murdered everyday, hahaha. just kidding, I like to laugh, toontown you say, wowee sounds like a fun game for everybody, to you walk through toon towns with mickeymouse, that would be great, mickey's cool, so is donald.

Death! Mar 5th, 2004 02:59 AM

It's Actually A MMORPG.

Perndog Mar 5th, 2004 03:03 AM

Heaven forbid there exist an Elm Street somewhere that isn't associated with horror movies, nevermind the fact that there were Elm Streets in hundreds and maybe thousands of towns several years before the Nightmare on Elm Street series was even conceived.

Way to go. Great contribution.

You are probably right, but I believe buddy was talking about a game. If your creating a product and a certain element of the product creates a conscious or even subconscious affiliation with something negative, well thats just bad marketing and design.

But you would really need to expose the "problem" to a number of people to see if the reaction is the same etc, etc.

Anonymous Mar 5th, 2004 01:50 PM

Or maybe it was just a reference. Dick.

mesobe Mar 5th, 2004 01:52 PM

well no shit its a reference. it didnt accidently just appear in the game.

Anonymous Mar 5th, 2004 01:53 PM

One of the designers probably likes references and did it, knowing that there's no way they could get in trouble for it. There's no mystery.

AChimp Mar 5th, 2004 02:52 PM

I think this thread is stupid. Death should be banned. >:
