Yami is one of the only spirits in the millennium items that isn't evil. But Yami will do what ever it takes to win a duel. Even if it means that some one will die(unlike Yugi). Yami cares about his friends more than anything in the world and is trying to save them before Marik gets to them. Yami was the pharoh in the past but doesn't remember anything. Him and Kiaba dueled in the past life and that is why they are rivals. Kiaba wanted to take over the world like Marik does now. But Kiaba won that duel and Yami trapped the duel monsters and sacrificed him self to save the world. Now history is repeating it's self and Yugi is going to help him so they can TRY and save the world. Kiaba is also helping Yami so they can duel and he can win his Slypher the sky dragon card.
