Japan has less than 100 *shootings* every year, and several hundred murders via stabbing, strangling, etc. This is because the public has almost no access to guns but plenty of access to knives and all that fun stuff. And everyone in Japan is Japanese; imagine if they had 100 different races that all hated each other, like there are in the States.
And Canada had 582 homicides in 2002. Single digits my ass.
