Well my surgeon disagrees, i have surgery on the 9th of November. The surgeon i got is one of the leading experts on pituitary tumors (he has done over 1000 of these surgerys), and feels optimististic that he can get 80-90 percent of the tumor on the first go. He then will treat what remains with radiation therapy unless it is too big, in which case he will try another surgery. I have a 60% chance of regaining the vision that i lost,
I also have a 30 percent chance of becoming infertile. The worst thing is that i have to drop out of school for this semester, and i will prolly have to give up a job i just got hired for. After the surgery i will spend about 4 days in the hospital and then be discharged, i can resume normal activity after 2 or 3 weeks, but will not be allowed to blow my nose, sneeze, cough, or lift anything over 5 lbs for 3 months.
