He's talking about the Tao Cannon. Kinda neat, except that if you didn't hit someone with the charged shot, you were basically screwed in deathmatch.
I liked the hivehand from Halflife. My buddy was absolutely convinced that it was the most worthless gun you could get, but then I showed him that you could shoot around corners with it.
Also, the namesake weapon from Painkiller. It had four freakin' attacks!
