The Brits are great once you get dug in but I've lost so many times just because I wasn't able to get my defences up quickly enough, the troops are really expensive too so you have to be a bit careful how you use them.

I like playing as the Germans from the original game best as within about 2 minutes you can have the whole map covered with MG42s killzones and Stug tanks. They have the best artillery too with V2 rockets, fire-storms and such.
