Harry and Michael were great, though Harry's little twist at the end was pretty lame.

I think the raincoat killer you encounter during profiling is the phantom of the one from the 60's; the other ghosts being the murdered townsfolk.
The 60's massacre bit seemed a little removed from the rest of the game to me. Excluding all these strange people and crazy as fuck York the game seems to be set in the real world but then we suddenly have this episode with the army which eventually leads to Kaysen being an alien. (If Kaysen was an alien then why are they letting Willie run free?)
My biggest issue with Deadly Premonition is how it felt like it had to follow certain video game conventions like enemies and boss battles. I didn't enjoy fighting the ghosts, it was monotonous. The bosses weren't bad - even though I wasn't playing the game ironically I lost my shit fighting Thomas in drag - but I felt like the story was molded to accommodate them when I could of done without them completely. |
