It's the earliest sci-fi story I can think of where all of the amazing technology and strange creatures are taken for granted. Heck, part of the reason that the Special Editions and prequels suck so much ass is how much emphasis is put on how amazing everything is, which completely pisses on the universe first established in the 70s.
I'm pretty gay, huh.
