Christianity isn't dogmatic on a whole because it's so factionalized, it's impossible to say exactly what a generic 'Christian' is. It's a bit like trekkies. You can define most as liking Star Trek/Jesus greatly, but beyond that while trying to define some, you exclude others. Sure some may be twinkie laden lardass klingon slash fiction writers/evangelical gay-hating uber-conservative thought police, but not ALL are like that.
Just how you view things. Try saying this instead; "Some of my best friends are Christian".
