Obama had his vetters go out and canvas the hoi polloi in the hopes of finding a VEEP who would bring him the most undecideds. Apparently, he needed to go with "experience" rather than "change" because most of the undecideds are afraid of too much change. In that respect, Biden is a good choice.

It makes me wonder if McCain will do the same thing with his choice - except that in his case he would need to canvas the far right, and may end up choosing someone of the same mind-set as James Dobson or John Ashcroft.
