I'm bumping this, because I'm having some trouble.

I've been working on a revision, but I keep finding myself getting stuck when it comes to rewording things so they sound less gay. So I'm kind of hoping some of you might have some more suggestions, particularly towards the end ("But all was not lost..." and on).
