how about addressing my other points? you know, like the fact that these men are PROFESSIONALS in their fields, that the show is EDUCATIONAL ENTERTAINMENT and addresses the cultural barrier that is so prevelant between straight and gay males by making both sides feel good about themselves.

No, we obviously are supposed to associate these guys as the "average homo" as you said, because the show is called Queer Eye! Not fashion eye, or designer eye, but queer eye. Apparently gay guys have a different eye than straight folks, or at least according to the show's title.
dude...THEY ARE QUEER. not only are they QUEER, but they are trained professionals. sure, one may be an interior designer WHO HAS HIS OWN COMPANY, and one may be a fashion expert WHO WORKED WITH POLO, but the underlying factor here is: THEY ARE ALL QUEER. GAY. ASSFUCKERS. DICKLICKERS. FAGS. big friggin' deal.
my point? they DO have a different viewpoint on things, not only because they are experts, but because they are QUEER. if you were QUEER, you would see things as a QUEER guy. you would have a QUEER eye. THERE WOULD BE NOTHING THAT YOU COULD DO ABOUT IT.
But as we are in the majority, and certainly don't have to worry about a silly little show's misgivings, it doesn't bother me.

Therefore, if they're stereotyping straights, too, it doesn't matter, becuase straights are the audience, and they probably have a grand old time thinking how tasteless they are.
this makes no sense. unless you are saying that straight people are having a "grand old time thinking how tasteless" the fab five are. if that's the case, you should change your position and tell all us baddies to watch every episode to realize how wrong we are to think that QUEER people are tasteless.
Gays interact with us everyday, and I'm sure they can make their own perception of straights.
