I honestly can't remember if I've seen this one or not, which is weird since I hold the peanuts movies very close to my heart. And I'm all for the bleak stuff, so I should definitely give this one a look (so I can at least finish reading your review).
Also, as I recall the one where they go to France had some dark parts (or at least some spooky parts that scared me when I was a kid).
