A lot of websites that report rumors leaked from Israeli intelligence are reporting the same thing, with other details describing the Lebanese government bartering the negotiations, and a list of nations that offered to take Saddam... including Syria, Iran, Egypt, and I think Libya too. The other rumor that's being reported in the European press, and even mentioned on cable news here is that Saddam has already made his way to a resort in Syria, not far from his birthplace.
