This is a particularly interesting topic for me, since I'm still struggling through the high school cirriculum myself and am considering persuing a possible career in psychological and educational theory. Thing is, I can't get any straight information about what we do know about how children today take in information, and what is the best way to go about teaching. Every website I go to is either some bitchfest about how the liberals are trying to turn America's youth into Communist hippies or how the conservative thinktank is attempting to roboticize the young. The middleman is almost nonexistant, and even when I do find something that seems like reliable information, I always end up running into something that reeks of bullshit.

I figure the i-Mockery forums are at least a little more well-mixed than most of the places I go to, so I'm curious as to what you guys think about how we can solve the obvious problems with the educational system as it stands today. What's the main problem facing schools and how can we fix it?
