I have no idea really. They do it with almost every show wherever possible. British shows get dubbed over with an American narrator when shown in the states too, so it goes both ways.
I guess stupid TV execs feel like viewers would tune out if the narrator wasn't speaking in their accent even though no one else is dubbed over (Jaime and Adam speak in their own voices). To be fair, there are a few instances where American english varies from British english (for instance, toilet = loo and truck = lorry. And they use stones and kilograms instead of pounds) but not nearly enough to where anyone would say "wtf is this narrator saying! Kilo-wha?"
