Has anyone said Seventh Saga yet?
It's got something of a cult following and is pretty great for a grind JRPG. My favorite part is probably how all the characters you don't choose to play as during the start of the game become NPCs who wander around between towns like you do and are friendly, neutral, or assholes, depending on their personality descriptions. Party with them! Fight them! Kill them off! Whatever you want, baby!
It's hard as shit, though. Someone who did a Let's Play of it described it as "The Battletoads of RPGs." I recommend emulating it and abusing savestates.

The ending is also an astoundingly offensive middle finger, by a game that's pretty much built around giving the player the finger. |
