EVE is pretty complicated, but it's fun. A lot of people have two accounts and play two characters simultaneously, running two instances of the game on their machine. But it's a lot of work, and I can't justify spending the time (and money) on it...
It's definitely worth checking out the the trial. Every time my ship warped, I got a warm fuzzy feeling
(which is a lot of the travelling in the game)
