I think that's great. I'm pleased to see that they were able to nab someone that high up the ladder. Clearly, Mr. Mohammed ain't a morning person, though.

Yeah, that picture is absolutely classic. I'm thrilled he was caught, I'd be even more thrilled if this was where our focus was.

A few questions on this good news though. I have heard the media report this was a joint efort between Pakistan and the US. I heard on NPR a spokesman for the Pakistani Government vehemently deny this and say this was purely a Pakistani effort. His whereabouts are even more confused. He's been reported in US hands at an unkown location, and in Pakistani hands waiting to hear from his country of origin.

I think this guy will almost certainly be tortured since there's really no other reason to leave him in foreign hands, and while he might personally have it coming, I think that's very bad business and should never happen. First of all it's a damn slippery slope, and second, I think torture is bad for the soul of the country that does it.

My main concern would be to get as much info. as possible to prevent any furthur attacks on innocent civialians and to get as many other Al Queda agents as possible.

NO matter how the man was caught.

This proves that the war in Iraq hasn't intruded on the other part of the war on terrorism.

The potential war on Iraq has not gotten in the way of Pakistan doing bang up job!

And Nald's, where do you stand on Turture as a method of obtaining information? Just curious. Oh, wait, I am curious, but more than that, I'm guessing you've got one of them, 'ends justify the means' things going on. WWJD?

I love the line a CIA official gave to CNN

"We are leaving him with Pakistan because it was their jurisdiction and they have interrogation methods that are currently unavailable to us."

Or something to that affect.

Almost as good as the Marine in charge of Camp X-Ray about interogating the al Queda and Taliban captives:

"You would be amazed how far a warm meal and a kind word will go. And when that doesn't work we just tell them they are going back to Egypt."

I think that actually sounds far creepier than just saying "We're going to torture him".

Well, we can't officially torture anyone. Only network television can do that in this country.

If it were going to save ONE innocent life I would be for torture.

The chances are many more than just one life is in danger.

I simply don't know how I would handle this guy. I'm not really in a position to say. I don't know all the facts.

Wow. That's absolutely the most Christian thing you've said. I think even Jesus might have held ouyt for say three innocent lives before resorting to torture. But I cn see this has cvaused you a great deal of moral struggle, so I won't give you a hard time about it.
