Old Jun 16th, 2006, 10:12 AM        hey musicians, let's talk about our current setups.
fucking categorized by bandname since i've cut off practically every tie in life at this point and do nothing but music, goddammit.

apple snails (psych/free-folk/space rock ala brothers of the occult sisterhood, terracid, my cat is an alien, etc.)...

Instruments: M-Audio Keystation 49e, Line 6 Variax 600 Guitar, Rogue LX400 Bass, Moog Opus 3, Korg Electribe A mkII, large assortment of miscellaneous percussion items, hand-carved didgeridoo, and a generic pan-flute.
Other: Yamaha Magicstomp, Two Danelectro Dan Echos, Danelectro Reel Echo Tape Simulator, Digitech XDD DigiDelay, and a very large assortment of software plugins (primarily Korg Legacy Collection, Waves Reverbs, Moog Modular V, Pro-53, Dub Siren, hands of darkness, and Voxelay for this project).

beesty (avant-garde/exotica ala goblin, smegma, raccoo-oo-oon, gastric female reflex, etc.)...

Instruments: Korg Electribe A mkII, didgeridoo, pan-flute, miscellaneous percussion, and home-built theremin.
Other: Yamaha Magicstomp, Digitech XDD DigiDelay, and Danelectro Reel Echo Tape Simulator.

catheter stretch (atmospheric, depressive black/doom metal ala furze, xasthur, lurker of chalice, spektr, etc.)...

Instruments: Danelectro DC3 Guitar, Line 6 Variax 600 Guitar,
Rogue LX400 Bass, M-Audio Keystation 49e, and Yamaha DTxpress 3 Special.

Others: Yamaha Magicstomp, Big Muff (Russian), Boss MT-2 Metal Zone, Two Danelectro Dan Echos, Danelectro Reel Echo Tape Simulator, and various software plugins (primarily revalver, extremist, gargoyle, prophet v, octopus, angelina, b4 for this project).

gabool the wild (space/drone/psych metal ala sunn 0))), skullflower, boris, vibracathedral orchestra, etc.)...

Instruments: Danelectro DC3 Guitar, Line 6 Variax 600 Guitar, M-Audio Keystation 49e, and Rogue LX400 Bass.

Other: Danelectro DD-1 Fab Tone Distortion Pedal, Big Muff (Russian), Yamaha Magicstomp, Boss MT-2 Metal Zone, Two Danelectro Dan Echos, Danelectro Reel Echo Tape Simulator, and various software plugins (primarily glaceverb, spacesynth/spaceeffect, cygnus, revalver, antares filter/kantos, and waves reverbs).

we are nightcrawlers! (shoegaze/psych rock ala m83, slowdive, mainliner, heavy winged, etc.)...

Instruments: Yamaha DTxpress 3 Special and M-Audio Keystation 49e.
Other: Software plugins (Blue, z3ta+, vurtbox,

after stasis (experimental pop, prog, synth-pop ala genesis, talk talk, xiu xiu, lansing-drieden, etc.)...

Instruments: M-Audio Keystation 49e, Danelectro DC3 Guitar, and Yamaha DTxpress 3 Special.
Other: Software plugins galore (All Krakli synths, prophesea, Pro-53, Melodyne, all Antares plugins, cameleon5000, lots of Eastwest plugs, Waves Bundle, etc.)

practically all projects use SM-57 and KSM27 mics, with the occasional shitty wal-mart mic. i also usually use a Behringer T1952 Tube Composer.

oh good god. that took so long. i'm stoned at 9:30am.

Don't you feel bad not donating money to charity? If I had that much money I'd try and help someone out.

I have a shitty guitar and a shitty amp.

i'm pretty ridiculously poor. i've simply had a long time to amass this stuff, and i live rather cheaply. also, i've only paid for audio software twice (and both were cheap bundle deals). the drumset is the only thing that cost any major amount of money.
the highest paying job i've ever had was $10 per hour. my current job is $8 per hour.

mim jazz bass into a ampeg ba210sp (sucks)

i have a vexter fuzz factory, a mxr blue box, a voodoo lab sparkle drive & a dod meatbox

my amp has cheesey effects so it's fun to set the fuzz factory to a squeal & then like use it's cheesey delay & wiggle my volume knobs to make like noises that hurt. it makes me want to go buy an actual delay pedal.

the meatbox has no knobs so i dont' really use it.. but if anyone has dod knobs they want to send me i'll gladly accept them

i don't have a band

i want a big muff :o

delays and big muffs are cheap.

the only physical gear i'm really itching for right now is a midi trumpet, but i don't see myself dropping the cash for quite some time. i've mostly been enamored with digital goods.

here's two of my latest downloads (hell no, i wouldn't pay for this stuff), which i see myself spending many hours behind...

It's all in storage at the moment, but what I have...

Sammick guitar
(basically a Fender ripoff, nothing fancy. It's the same guitar I've had since I first learned to play.)

Crate Vintage Club series tube amp
(looks a lot like this one http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...4/DSCN0279.jpg and again, I've had this one since I first learned to play.)

Zoom 3030 FX pedal
(nifty multi-effects pedal that gets the job done)

Boss Hyper Fuzz pedal
( http://www.chrisguitars.com/boss-fz2-040204.jpg , if you want your guitar to sound like death incarnate, then I suggest this one.)

DOD Envelope Filter pedal
( http://www.chrisguitars.com/dod-envfilter-031023.jpg , a wonderfully doofy pedal.)

Korg Triton Pro-X 88 key synth
(Probably the most expensive thing I ever bought, and sadly, I haven't used it much in recent years though I hope to be using it again in the not too distant future because it really is an amazing synth.)

Other than that, I have the usual assortment of mics 'n crap lying around. Also have my old Alto Saxophone from when I was in band and an old accordian. Hooray :o
