I've been seeing rumors of a possible "hong kong phooey" movie, has anyone else seen this/heard about it?

"Sorry about spelling it "hony" in the title

God, is Hollywood so hard up for ideas that they need to use children's cartoons and books? If you're going to plunder Hana-Barbara at least have the decency to finish His Dark Materials and Series of Unfortunate Events first.

Newsflash: Hollywood has used children's books for ideas since its existence. The problem is nowadays they do a half-assed job of it.

Eh, they were okay. Unfortunate Events could have done without Jim Carrey (and kept Burton as the director) and The Golden Compass suffered from religious panic.

And Durr, you might not want to wish for that. Apparently Zac Effron's been cast as Jonny.

Jonny Quest was my favorite cartoon. If Efron in the movie it will ruin it.

Hopefully they base on the good Johnny Quest. I didn't mind the 90's remake too much but its no where near as classy as the original.

Agree with you there. Anyway, isn't he supposed to be about ten in the original series? Even in the remake he's fourteen at the most (then somehow ages backwards to thirteen).

Oh, and also The Rock is rumored to play Race.

Was it a Harvey Birdman sketch where Race and Dr. Bannon were fighting in court over custody of Jonny and Haiji? That was a funny spoof.

The Rock as race

I kinda pictured Jonny like a young Indiana Jones type. Kinda like River Pheonix in the Last Cursade.

Sort of like the nakama thing they had going in the Crystal Skull movie, where they were their own family unit yeah (that's one of the things I liked about the Real Adventures, the way the family fit together).

Now what I'm wondering is who's going to be playing Hadji?

I heard something about a Captain Planet movie as well. I wonder when they will re-re-make Transformers?

And a Voltron movie (Voltron: Defender of the Universe).

Well a Captain Planet movie sort of makes sense since there are so many tree hugging hippies around these days. If they make it as corny and awesome as the original I might see it and like it, however if they try to make some sort of stupid "realistic" shit I'll be pissed.
