ninja- the stalk is painted bamboo and the top is chicken wire and paper mache

This was last year (which is nowhere near as good as this years):


rog's costume was super lame, but everyone loved it. it was ridiculous


I still think our best costumes were when we went as harley quinn and the joker the year we got married, because the costumes were just dead on. we have no photos from it though

Ok, here we go... presenting my 2004 Halloween costume:
THE FLAMING CARROT!



And here's an animation of the lights that are in the head! (sorry for the large file)


I'll try to get better/brighter pics and animations of the costume later on, and maybe even video tape it so you can see how the lights really work. Still, I'm sure this gives you guys the basic idea. Hope ya like it :o

Holy God. It's... beautiful.

I sometimes really wish we celebrated Halloween here, since the one time I got a chance to go all-out and make my own costume, I had a shitload of fun. It was the pre-final-exams party at high school, kind of like a prom, only far less tradition-bound and more like a regular school dance. People could show up in costume or just wear a suit or dress, and surprise surprise, very few people came in costume and the ones that did had cheap stuff like Hawaian shirt > Ace Ventura or sunglasses > Matrix. That almost sucked, but because I was one of a few people who'd gone all out for a costume, everybody thought I was awesome. Btw, I was the guy from Crow (It can't always rain ). Some people thought I was a member of Kiss.

I'd like to make a costume based on a bad guy from X-men simply called George, who was barely used in the comics, but made a few showings in the cartoon. He was decked out in purple, with yellow eyes, and made of tarlike mud. sigh

She helped a lot with it. I cut up and built the inner metal framework for it and then she sewed the orange fabric around it and sewed on the eye holes. Then I took care of the flaming head by cutting out a large piece of styrofoam, using some pumpkin lights, and multi-colored cellophane and tissue paper. Then she cut out the pseudo-flippers that rest on top of my real shoes with some green foam pieces. It was a really long process, but it was definitely worth it. I haven't made a costume from scratch in a long time. I took pictures of the process which I'll post later so people can see how to make their very own flaming carrot costume.

I went looking tonight for accessories for my halloween costume tonight. DUDE! Everything is so cheesy and cheap. I looked at some of the costumes they had and they were either plastic or paper thin. Basically it's just asking for your kids or yourself to get sick. Halloween is friggen cold. People were just lined up to buy this crap too.
