Here in Canada the SARS disease is hitting hard and I keep getting this strange feeling that this could be some kind of Chinese biological experiment that got loose. Any thoughts on this?

Well, I don't want to ALARM anyone, but...

Impending famine in Ethiopia and other third world countries

plus

controversial war in the Middle East that has a chance of escalating

plus

rapidly spreading virus that occasionally proves to be fatal

equals...?

eh, better start going to church again. Just in case.

i think the danger is in the ability for the corporate regime to employ a new kind of martial law using bioterror spoofs or some such to lock whole towns up..

http://www.fromthewilderness.com/fre...sars_scam.html
SARS: A GREAT GLOBAL SCAM
by Dr. Len Horowitz, who warned of the anthrax attacks before they happened and then forced the government to admit the anthrax came from CIA programs, blows the lid on SARS. It’s economic warfare and a preparation for when the real bio killers are unleashed. More people die of the flu and malaria each year. But now your brain will be prepared for the emergency quarantine orders and suspension of civil liberties that are coming. Incredible documentation!

SARS is bullshit.

There are so many other common viruses that can kill you, and of them all SARS is the least likely to do so!

The panick generated by this is just sickening, and there must be someone behind it.

old people and people who are already sick die from this, and its the same deal with influenza and countless other viruses.

In fact, I would not be frightened in the least even if I though that I had been infected. I rarely get sick, and I always recover within 48 hours. I definitely would survive SARS, which has a death rate of only 3%.

And remember, death rates from any illness are derived from those who are sick enough to seek help, or those who are already dying in the hospital and catch it froma nurse or other patient, not those who tuff it out and dont bother to see a doctor for diagnosis, so the death rate is in fact probably much lower if this was in the general populace.

Why is SARS such a big deal to begin with? I mean, people get AIDS and STDs and cancer and everything else in mass amounts every day, and you don't see the public going ape over it. Selective concern, I guess.

SARS is new and exotic and a break from the current story dominating every airwave. Thats why the media is going apeshit over it.

It's always got to be something. Last year it was anthrax, this year it's SARS.

Have we started blaming SARS on the terrorists yet?

Scientiffically Sars is very big news right now for three reasons, any of which may change at any moment.
1.) While the method of cantegeon is understood, the degree is not.
2.) There is no model at all yet as to why SARS is fatal in some cases and not in other, nor is their one giving any indiocation how often it's fatal.
3.) There is currently no treatment.

All of these things make it potentially a highly significant disease and not this is just ignorant. It is currently the only disease being watched by the CDC that carries all of the above risk factors. We understand more about SARS daily, and there is every indication we will understand quite bit more very soon, inlcuding quite possibly a test and a vaccine, which may be very close at hand, as SARS does not appear to mutate rapidly the way HIV does. That does not change the fact it's potential is, as of today, completely unknown. Balanced against knowing it is A.) Contegeous, B.) fatal an unkown percentage of the time and C.) Untreatable all make this a disease any scientist would take seriously.

Statistically, as of right now, however, SARS is absolutely insignificant. Drive carefully, wear your seatbelt and wear sunblock even on cloudy days and you'd be taking far better care of yourself than by avoiding Chinese tourists.

That too, could change rapidly.

SARS in neither exgerated or ignored. It is unkown. For those who feel the media is blowing it out of proportion I ask you to ponder for moment the kind of coverage it would be (and would have been) getting were it not for the war.

As for the idea that this is some bio agent... I doubt it sincerely. AIDS looks way more engineered than SARS and I think AIDS occured quite naturally.

I'm beginning to follow the line of thought that AIDS did not occur naturally.

The currently accepted explanation for it just doesnt add up.
