Old Sep 23rd, 2003, 10:28 AM        Our President and the News
Okay, the source for this is CNN, but the section I clipped is W. talking about himself to Britt Hume of fox news.

" Bush said he insulates himself from the "opinions" that seep into news coverage by getting his news from his own aides. He said he scans headlines, but rarely reads news stories.

"I appreciate people's opinions, but I'm more interested in news," the president said. "And the best way to get the news is from objective sources, and the most objective sources I have are people on my staff who tell me what's happening in the world."

If one had NO OTHER reason to vote against W. this would be enough. He believes his aides are the most objective news source he could get? Does he really mean this, or is he laying groundwork for later credable deniability? He thinks more 'opinion' seeps into news coverage (and there's plenty of it out there, from all kinds of angles) than 'seeps into' his aides interpretation of that news?

Another Bush-ism, this time from the American civil administrator of Iraq. In response to proposal to hasten the timetable to hand over control of Iraq to Iraqis, Paul Bremmer said, "To do so would invite economic collapse, followed by political extremism and a return to terrorism". Like that isn't happening right now?

Well, that makes shit-sense, doesn't it?! How could your OWN staff, which YOU'VE appointed, be anything but SUBJECTIVE?! Shows you what a good Harvard education will do for you. Your honor, I'd like to enter this quote as "Exhibit A".

Wow, Vinth, good job making a comment at the argumentator instead of having a point to make at what had been being said by that person.

Undermining the authority of the speaker is the first step to crumbling the foundation of his argument. Of course, that leaves the task of underming the authority with something of relevant validity ... not a heretofore a strong suit in "Vinth World".

"I appreciate people's opinions, but I'm more interested in news,"

He said he scans headlines, but rarely reads news stories

what a fuggin idiot. how can he be more interested in news yet not read the stories.. he should have said 'im more interested in news titles than the news'

Guys, please. All Bush meant was that his aides break down the news into four-letter words for him and then work that into a handpuppet show they perform during lunch.

It would be in Bushs' best intrests that his staff tell him the truth, and they most likely do.

This does not mean that any actions are admitted publicly to be wrong, or any changes would be made.

Staff: "George! People are dying in Iraq!"

GW: "That's the plan, man."

You have heard of the "killing the messanger" allegory and coddling, haven't you? Or is it cuddling? A good puppet show always gets me in the mood for cuddling.

Hmmm, I would have thought now that the bullets have stopped flying you would be over in Iraq assisting with the reconstruction efforts.

Oh wait, I forgot, you have a valid medical condition that prevents you from enlisting, i.e. you're a cowardly fat-ass.

Cowardly? Nope

Fat-ass? Not quite. I am white however, so according to black comedians, I have no ass at all.

Well, Clinton isn't the president, for one.

Also, being critical of Bush does not automatically make you a Clinton fan.

Sorry, sir, but we don't have a krispy kreme in our area and I am not really fond of doughnuts.

Although your wife is particularly fond of deez nuts.

Dear Vinth,

The "All You Can Eat" buffet at our restaurant isn't supposed to be taken literally.

Boogie,

that was my "Vinthian" reaction.

or my feigned reaction of those who claim liberals only attack bush because of who he is, not what he does, all the while we are fawning over our former prez.

He has a lisp that makes him spit on people when he talks to them?

Or does he let his urine fly indiscriminately when he wets himself in fright?

Come to think of it, those are valid reasons for the military to turn down his enlistment. Heavens knows that someone like Vivian who is incapable of critical thought would make a perfect kill-bot. Pity.
