I've been think about getting back into art a lot lately, but I'm not sure how to go about it. If any of you art guys have any books or anything of the sort that would help be out, I'd be really grateful. :D

Do you mean artists that provide tips and tutorials or books that would service as inspiration?

I am more interested in anything educational that people could provide me with. There are many things about art that I really have no idea of, such as anatomy, color theory, etc.

"drawing on the right side of the brain" is a good book. I learned a lot from it, and I'm trained.

Surprisingly, the things that I have learned the most from are the How to Draw Manga books. They provide a lot of examples and tips. Also, Mark Crilley on YouTube has some excellent tutorials. Just because they are Manga artists, it doesn't mean you can't learn something.

I also look over artists on DeviantArt, and you can find lots of tutorials on what you have mentioned.

Practice, practice, practice.

I'm glad to hear that because I ordered "New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" and "Anatomy for the Artist" just last week. :D

My hubs gave me two of my b-day presents early. He gave me Hell Beasts: Draw Grotesque Fantasy Creatures and Drawing & Painting Fantasy Landscapes & Cityscapes. Both look interesting.

So I have began reading "New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" and I must admit it is quite the interesting read. In simplified terms, it teaches on that art is not a magical ability that someone must have an inborn talent for, but rather that anyone can learn it as long as they discover to see things as an artist would see them. By using trying to use the right side of your brain instead of the left to handle such things, and perceive them in an entirely different way.

Maybe I can figure this out after all.
