I am doing a project in school.
Could you name one song and one movie from the 80's which is the most "80's" for you? :/

Easy.......The wedding singer would have to be the movie, and Eurythmics-Sweet Dreams would be the song.

This post should have been made in the MUSIC FORUM.

and the answer to your question is: "Take on Me" by Ah-Ha.

"Don't You Forget About Me" by Simple Minds would probably come in second.

I hate the 80's, but "Re-Animator" is a great movie and any song by Slayer is good.

Holy cow, that was the first thing that popped into my head. I guess it is the right answer.

Re-Animator is EXTREMELY overrated.

And I'll say "The Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats and "The Breakfast Club".

I know, I bought that thing all excited and then was left wondering what all the hoopla was about. You and I were both just like "that's it???"

Unless there's a song called "The Breakfast Club" that I don't remember, I already mentioned "Don't You Forget About Me" by Simple Minds .

I would name something by Hall and Oats, but they are actually timeless.

I'll have to go with "Everybody wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears... well that one's kind of timeless as well. Regardless, it is the best song of the eighties... as well as one of the best songs EVER. It also features prominently in Real Genius.

That's what I was wondering.

Also, any of the following songs by Robert Palmer (RIP): "Addicted to Love", "Simply Irresistible", and "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On".

Anything off of Phil Collins' No Jacket Required album, as well as "In the Air Tonight" and "Easy Lover".

All definitely big tracks of the 80's... but seriously if you had to just pick ONE song that was like the biggest hit of the 80's, I think it has to be "Take On Me" by Ah-Ha.

I'd agree that "Take on Me" is probably my favorite 80s song, and it IS the best music video EVER.

But I didn't want to just give the same answer Roger gave.

I said "The Breakfast Club" because he asked for ONE song and ONE movie.

I will give you "Take On me" just because "Everybody wants to rule the World" transcends the labeling of 80's song.

As far as movies go, I would have to say the Goonies or Better off Dead.
