Steam is a download service. Once you've paid for the game it permanently ties the game to you account and you can download it whenever you want.

Out of interest, what's so wrong with the console versions? The PS2 version seemed fine to me.

the graphics on ps2 really take away from the atmosphere of the game. it looks like a quake 2 mod or something.

PC

another thing, the pc version has access to mods and the like. load times are fantastic compared to the ps2 version which takes literally a few minutes considering it splits the levels into different chapters and loads each seperately. the pc version loads the entire level at once and didnt take that long to load even on my shitty comp.

ign gives the ps2 version a 7.9
they give the pc version a 9.4

Very possibly true...still, I don't see any reason to get better at playing shooters on consoles, so I think I'll stick to the PC.
