I was looking at some pictures in my grandparents house on easter. And i noticed that there is a picture of my grandpa shaking hands with Regan and i actually found out that they had been good friends when he was a senator.

So his death is going to effect our family

It may be in poor taste, but my immediate reaction to the article was "wow, that makes him out to look like a saint".

But he was no saint - he was a human being. One who made some mistakes, and, sure, he did some good things too.

I was too little to understand politics when Reagan was in office, but that should hardly change my opinion based on what I've learned since then. If that were the case, no one could be qualified to talk about things that happened before they were born. Not only is that absurd, but it would put so many history professors and writers out of work.

People're always going to make a person look like a saint after they die. No one deserves to be thrown out, especially someone that played such an integral part in so many people's lives.

I'm too young to know too much about him and I'm really not inclined to start looking now, but just because he was out president and represented us and impacted so many lives (for better or for worse), he should be remembered as a great man.

I don't particularly like him, but I would hope that he'd be remembered as a great person when he died, whether he is or not. I'm sure there are some people out there that love and respect him as a person AND as a President and it'd be unfair to portray him as a villain to coming generations.

It's sacrificing honesty for common decency, as far as I'm concerned. :/

But from what I've seen, Bush isn't as completely evil as the other two were. I'm not saying that I'm educated enough on Bush to make this assumption but if I were going by what I know right now, he hasn't done what Hitler did.

I'm just not educated enough and I'll admit that, but for the sake of the uneducated we should portray these people as great. Everyone knows Hitler's story, not everyone knows what Bush has done yet. They will, but they haven't yet.
