I want to hear good things about David Sedaris. NOW.

So, basically, I've got some extra money to spend, and none of my friends have even heard of this guy. I want people that aren't dumb to tell me how funny he is. I'm tired of reading things that are supposed to be funny but aren't, and if anyone knows anybody funnier then by all means let me know.

Also, if indeed I should check out his books, which ones do you recommend?

oh oh, which one was it? yes. 'me talk pretty one day' made me laugh a lot and i don't normally laugh (out loud) at books.

i think david foster wallace is hysterical, but he's a bit dark. 'infinite jest' is a huge book, but damn funny (and DARK, very DARK). 'brief interviews with hideous men' is super good, too - if you like short stories.

Who hasn't heard of Sedaris? Before Augusten Burroughs stole his writing DNA, he was probably one of the bigger names in "fiction", if you wanna call it that.

Anyway, I've read all of his stuff and I think my favorites are Naked and Barrel Fever. Pretty much anything he writes is hillarious tho, so have at it.

I like David Sedaris, but I would save your money for when Mr. Adventure's new joke book comes out.

"Me Talk Pretty One Day" is a really good book, though it sometimes kind of slows down inbetween the more interesting stories. I also like Christopher Moore's "Lamb," but that's all I've read of his.
