Yankee fans are freakin morons. They believe in this "clutch player" myth because the newspapers here tell them to. But, when you look at the numbers from the playoffs the last two years, A-Rod has performed better than Captain Flatfoot himself. In fact, A-Rod's playoff numbers actually stack up favorably with Reggie Jackson.

I would much rather see the Phillies than the Brewers in October. There's no way I want to be staring down CC Sabathia and Ben Sheets in a short series.

The second 4-game sweep by the Phils in a month puts them in a virtual tie with the Brew-Crew for top spot in the Wild-card standings, and 2 games behind the Mets in the loss column for the division lead. What gives? Have they finally started to play baseball after 2 weeks of playing dead?

The White Sox hold a 2.5 game lead over the Twins as the two finish out the regular season in Minneapolis. Obviously the Twins need to win all three to clinch the division. Even if we don't get that third win i'd love to see it go to the third game. What a shitty way to end the season if we lose the first of the series.
