Old Dec 1st, 2006, 04:25 AM        help me please
So I'm having a few troubles getting Fallout (the video game!) to play on my computer. Whenever I try to install it normally I get an error saying the game isn't compatible with my version of windows (I use windows XP) which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me but who am I to argue with my computer! Since I can't figure out a way to circumvent this I tried installing the game through dosbox which works but now when I try to play it the sound stutters, I can get the game moving at a manageable speed but I can't seem to fix the sound. If I could get some help here I'd appreciate it, I just wanna play fallout (the video game!).

um so is fallout the video game different from fallout the RPG from black isle and interplay

cause if it isn't, may I suggest right-clicking on the icon you use to run it and clicking properties, then the compatibility tab, and then checkign the box that says "run this program in compatibility mode for" and then choosing "windows 95" from the dropdown box

you don't need dosbox to run fallout

I'm a big fallout fan, and I had the same problem.

I think for some reason I had to be on a non-administrator account, but use the "Run As" feature and run it under the admin account.

I remember that putting it in the different compatability modes didn't help for me.
