I just saw a free sneak preview of it and thought it was great. I only saw enough of the cartoon to be seriously confused by it, so I can't really make a comparison. But I really enjoyed it.

charlize theron looks all kinds of sexy in it, but i'm not so optimistic about how good this will be. Maybe the trailers are just bad.

Opening day and the only thing from Rotten Tomatoes is two negative reviews. Not even enough to give it a tomatometer. This does not bode well :<

Well bear in mind that with user-submitted reviews, there's going to be a handful of incomprehensible faggots who think it's funny and worth wasting time thinking of some internet standup comedy to write for it.

Grain of salt, my friend. I usually wait until I see the movie to pass judgement on it.

I went and saw it last night. I was expecting it to be abominable because of the sheer number of bad reviews it was getting, and rottentomatoes usually doesn't lie. When I actually saw it though, it wasn't that bad. I think most peoples' problems with it was that it doesn't make a lot of sense if you haven't seen the cartoon.

The studio didn't give the media a preview screening for the movie, which is why there weren't any reviews of it.

I thought it sucked. charlize theron was good in it. but i dont see how you could at all be a fan of the cartoon and like this.

To me the most interesting part of the whole series was the fucked up relationship between aeon and trevor and how their jealousy destroys everything around them. None of that transitioned into the movie. They took the main chracters of the show and made them completley boring by removing the all of the selfishness that made them interesting in the first place. they made them both heros. Then just put some typical hollywood bullshit romance and some good looking action sequences.

in word, it is ok to watch for the action and aeon and thats it. it is boring otherwise and takes the good out of the show. I am suprised at some of the reviews I read where fans of the show actually liked it. I have to wonder if they got the show at all, or if i did.

Ya know, there were two cartoons. The original shorts, which were just part of the Liquid Television program, had no names given for the characters, next to no dialouge, a bare semblance of a plot, and were fucking awesome.

Then it got it's own show and it kinda became ludicrous. If fans of the talkie cartoon are hating this movie because it isn't true to that version's character development, perhaps I might need to go see it.

I really hate the "can do absolutely anything" type of enviroment it is suggesting. And even if the movie is good, the setting will still ruin it for me.
