But, on the bright side, they'll maul Ohio State while Stoops loses another bowl game. Hell, they might end up with half of the title...

Northwestern beat Iowa and even had a better record but Iowa got picked for the Outback Bowl.

It's all about attendance and dough for these bowls.

That's why OSU is going to the Fiesta Bowl. The state officials of Arizona have stated on more than one occasion they would have the Buckeyes there every year because of how well their fans travel and how much money they spend there.

I heard talk about Iowa even trying to plead their case about getting picked for the Capital One bowl.

I just glad MSU was able to smell the roses this season, even for a fleeting moment. Maybe next year...

BCS DECLARES GERMANY WINNER OF WORLD WAR II....US Ranked 4th

After determining the Big-12 championship game participants the BCS computers were put to work on other major contests and today the BCS declared Germany to be the winner of World War II.

"Germany put together an incredible number of victories beginning with the annexation of Austria and the Sudetenland and continuing on into conference play with defeats of Poland, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands. Their only losses came against the US and Russia; however considering their entire body of work--including an incredibly tough Strength of Schedule--our computers deemed them worthy of the #1 ranking."

Questioned about the #4 ranking of the United States the BCS commissioner stated "The US only had two major victories-- Japan and Germany . The computer models, unlike humans, aren't influenced by head-to-head contests--they consider each contest to be only a single, equally-weighted event."

German Chancellor Adolph Hiter said "Yes, we lost to the US ; but we defeated #2 ranked France in only 6 weeks." Herr Hitler has been criticized for seeking dramatic victories to earn 'style points' to enhance Germany 's rankings. Hitler protested "Our contest with Poland was in doubt until the final day and the conditions in Norway were incredibly challenging and demanded the application of additional forces."

The French ranking has also come under scrutiny. The BCS commented " France had a single loss against Germany and following a preseason #1 ranking they only fell to #2."

Japan was ranked #3 with victories including Manchuria, Borneo and the Philippines

With the Heisman ceremony being held tonight, whose your pick for the Super Mega College Player of the Year?

Bradford?

McCoy?

Tebow?

I say give it to Bradford, but with Tebow's performance last week and the Gators being in the BCS Championship, I think it will end up with Tebow. All three can make a case for deserving it, so I'm happy with whoever gets chosen.

Michigan RB and Youtube legend Sam McGuffie is transferring out of Ann Arbor. It sounds like he's going to end up at Texas A&M. I highly recommend you check out this highlight tape...it's insane:

I'm thinking Bradford is going to get it. His passing numbers are just way better than Tebow's and (with some help from the Big XII brain trust) he's taken his team further than McCoy. All three are deserving. The Heisman has lost a lot of its luster in my eyes, and only moreso that they snubbed Graham Harrell this year. It wouldn't have hurt them to send him an invite and his numbers are more than worthy.

You know it is getting really bad for MU when even Buckeye fans are starting to feel sorry for Michigan fan.

The Bowl season kicks off on saturday at 11am as Wake Forest and Navy meet for a second time this year.

The Bowl season is a sad one for me because it's a stark reminder that the season is drawing to a close.

Imagine how exciting this time of year would be if there were some sort of system in place wherein the best of the best play each other to decide who is the undisputed National Champion.

I guess I'm just being silly. Surely if there was a better system someone, someplace would've discovered it and implemented it. A man can dream, though... a man can dream.

Doesn't matter. Playoff or no Playoff, the black hole of sadness would still reign supreme.

For those that missed the Poinsetta Bowl featuring Boise State and TCU, you missed a good one. This game was as good as advertised with TCU taking a 17-16 win. Tough loss for BSU but this one might end up being the best bowl game of the season.

Notre Dame isn't good enough to clean the cleats of the Ohio State offensive line.

It's an embarrassing indictment of the NCAA bowl system to have such sucktastic teams (UH at 7-6; ND at 6-6) to play in a year-end "classic".

Rusty Smith had something to prove. He p*ssed off Schnellenberger for not reporting an injury and playing hurt. Then when he got better the Owls went 5-1 in the weak part of their schedule. But the kid has an arm. Plus the team played seven road games--plus this one which was essentially a home game for the Chippewas. LeFevour is the better QB but I gotta give it to Smith.

I like Smith. I think if he can latch onto an NFL team and develop for a few years he might be able to develop into a serviceable back-up (or more, who knows).

My day has been made now that Wisconsin was soundly trounced by FSU 42-14. What a disapointing year the Badgers had. 17 returning starters back and they finish 7-6. Hats off to Becky!
