I can't stop listening to it. By far the most clever writing I've ever heard in music form. The music itself is pretty standard Broadway stuff, but like most moderately successful ones, it will squat in your brain long after served eviction papers.

They're doing what they've been doing for a long time, and it's awesome. Most of the songs are send-ups to big Broadway numbers.

I love the hell out of this musical.

I read in an interview that originally the main character was supposed to be shot in the face as soon as they reached Uganda, and the bumbling fat kid was left alone to basically make up the religion as he went along witnessing. They didn't take it out because it was too dark or ruined the mood of the play, but that they couldn't make it work story wise. Shucks.
