That's a great review Mr Burbank. I had to pick this one up even though I didn't quite know why. At least the reprints are good for a laugh.

May I add : I can't stand Jocasta. She's like this refugee from a bad 70's sci-fi, and now they're going to make her an Avenger. And it seems - SPOILERISH - that Mockingbird may not actually be Mockingbird after all that. Sigh.

Talk about Wasp getting the short shrift. Not only did she die in SI, she's getting -SPOILER- eaten by the damn Blob in Ultimatum. Janet is being cleansed from the Marvel Universe, it seems.

She'll be back in 2010 at the latest, as Max talked about, Wasp and Ike Turner are most likely going to be founding members of the Avengers in the 2011 movie (if it happens) tacked on because as Max pointed out, common perception says they didn't exist before the Avengers, and I can't think of one time that Marvel hasn't rebooted/shifted focus to/or changed dramatically to fit their on-screen portrayal of a character that was going to be in a movie. Heck, Secret Invasion seemed like a huge excuse to try to redeem Iron Man to me, sames with Dark Reign.

I bet dollars to donuts that either Bucky goes back to a traditional Captain America costume, or Steve Rogers goes back to being Captain America by the time his movie comes out.

Any who, I honestly didn't know Wasp was dead until I read this comic, Secret Invasion's been a lot harder to follow then most cross-overs for me, so I just read the Secret Invasion - X-Men, it was the best out of the lot from what I saw. Good art, despite his issues with Beast, and it was actually really well-written, had some interesting perspectives on Cyclops's ruthlessness, and how the Skrull would handle such a varied army.

If you've been following the thor comic (volume 3, which is suprisingly good) you'll know that they are already working on the caps return. In the september issue thor calls out to the cap from the great beyond and thor asks him why he's still lingering and hasn't moved on to valhalla to which the cap replies something along the lines of "I dunno, I just felt like I needed to stay".

Killing the Captain is the biggest bonehead move since optimus prime was killed in the transformers tv show. "Yeah let's take out most popular character throughout the years and kill him! That makes for smart business sense!"

DC did this kind of thing with J'onn J'onzz a lot better, it made me feel for the character, and I never even cared for Martian Manhunter.

Meh....I'll leave it. Admittiedly I've never been the biggest Avengers fan, but killing of Janet was a dick move on Marvels part. She'll be back saying that she was a clone of a Skrull or soem shit like that. How I long for the days of decent writing in Marvel books

Quick question for everyone.

Do you reckon there might be some sort of contest going on with the Marvel writers as to who can ruin things the most?

Or, do you subscribe to the "elaborate truth or dare game" theory?

Hmm...either a contest or a dare game, but what would I know? afterall i've pretty much tuned out Marvel since they allowed Spiderman 3 to make so many people's eyes bleed...

Heres a Question, how close do you think they are to "The Goddamed Iron Man"

Read Spider-Man: Noir and then you'll see that we're pretty much there.
