I know some people have been getting their google searches hijacked...

But it seems now I am having my whole browser hijacked at times.

When I first start my computer, if I try to go to a website...
for instance www.i-mockery.net...
It will bring me to www.www.i-mockery.net.org or some crazy shit like that.

Does anybody know what could be causing this? I ran virus and spyware scans, but I would like to know what exactly causes it.

That sounds strange but have you tried deleting you temporary internet files?

Also, are you using IE? If so don't. Nah actually, check to see if anything has been added to the links toolbar and also check control panel for any "search bars" they are added so easily these days.
