This is a smaller version of a thread I have on my board.
My new years resolution is to watch a movie (that I've never seen before) per day (meaning I can watch a few day's worth of movies in a day). Also, I will see every movie that comes out in theaters for as long as I can see them for free. I will update this thread as I update the other one. But here is what I've watched so far:
1. Meatballs (1979)
I love summer camp movies and this is probably the most famous summer camp movie ever made. Not very memorable
2. Das Boot (1981)
Fucking boring. Fun to watch for about a half hour.
3. 48 Hrs. (1982)
Boring and stupid but pretty easy to get through because I watched it right after Das Boot.
4. 12 Angry Men (1957)
Fucking excellent.
5. Nine 1/2 Weeks (1986)
Gay. and boring. and gay.
6. The Virgin Suicides (1999)
I loved it. I thought it was funny.
7. Logan's Run (1976)
Good in a Bad way/Bad in a Good way. I hope the future is like this
8. Over the Edge (1979)
I liked it.
9. Up the Academy (1980)
Good in a Bad way/Bad in a Good way. Great fucking soundtrack. Mad Magazine made this movie in response to National Lampoon making Animal House. Then they realized it was a shit movie, and took their name off of it, and demanded scenes with a live-action Alfred E. Newman be cut out. When they released it on video, somebody fucked up and released the version with all the Mad Magazine stuff in it. I got that video :D
10. Las Hurdes (1933) (aka the Land Without Bread)
I owned this on my VHS of Un Chien Andalou, and hadn't watched it. There's a lot of fucked up shit in this documentary. A goat falls off a cliff and dies, a donkey gets stung to death by bees, and you know what? Dead babies aren't that funny. They just look like they're sleeping.
11. Calendar Girls (2003)
More amusing that I thought it would be. Probably becuase it was british.
12. Melvin Goes to Dinner (2003)
GREAT!
I will update this thread regularly probably.
