I also love how Mario didn't take fall damage in Sunshine if you dove off cliffs. I spent a shit ton of time in the main area reenacting the opening scene of the Escaflowne movie. That's also how I beat the retarded firey goo stage; I'd just climb up on a big tree and dive to the center of the map.

There need to be more games that implement falling huge distances for some reason and not getting hurt. It looks cool. :<

I second that. Ever since games were 3D, we've had this stupid "die from falling too far" shit. If I wanted realism, I'd go outside

I would not play a game that physically punished me for sucking :V

Then again, games are so piss-easy these days that it wouldn't matter.

That was a stupid, bad, terrible, awful, horrible idea in Deus Ex, and if it's ever used in any game ever again I will hunt down the dev team and murder them.

Do you know how FUCKING long it takes to complete a level with NO LEGS?

If the game had an autosave function, bullshit like that wouldn't be nearly as grating, but when that happened I realized that the last time I'd saved my game had been two hours ago. It's ridiculous that I have to remember to save every 2 minutes because the game loves arbitrarily killing or crippling me when I least expect it; what's more, whenever I get really immersed in the experience, I completely forget that I'm supposed to be recording my progress with the regularity of someone on an all-fiber diet. Any game as involving as Deus Ex needs to record progress on its own, since the player can and will forget to do so.

Christing fuck.

Eh. You could take MGS3's injury system and make it so that specific actions were hard/impossible to do with certain injuries. Like if your hands were burned from something, and oh fuck me there's a ladder I need to climb. Then you build the level so that the player has to take a longer way around or something.

But you know what? Beating a level without legs is easy. Rayman does it all the time.

I'm pretty sure only medbots can restore dead limbs.

That would make more sense, I think.

There's a good reason for that:

You could heal your dead limbs. Nanotech

This would be good news, but my Wii has been collecting dust for the last 6 months.

I'd be playing it more if I had the 50 bucks to fork out for Okami.

Srs, full price for a port of a two year old game? You are BASTARDS, Capcom.

Buying a Wii is like putting effort into a relationship that just isn't going to work out. You spend all that time in the persuit. "Hard to get" concept. Then when you finally get your hands on it, you realize how immature it really is. You slowly grow apart. Then it tried to lure you back in with ideas of the past (i.e. Punch out, Zelda). But you realize that you don't need it to enjoy those moments again (emulator) and the seperation continues until you don't even bother to turn her on anymore and in return, she doesn't make your little joystick vibrate. But no bother, because you have others that can get that done for you.

Yeah, for the most part, my Wii is just there to play games I can't on my computer.

It'd be a different story if people stopped releasing fucking shovelware for it and started making some actual games.

Exactly this. I bought a Wii for Smash Bros. And possibly Metroid Prime and No More Heroes. But unless Nintendo releases a truckload of instant classics, I don't see myself buying more than 10 games for this thing over its lifespan.

Unless they release a Wii version of Rez. I would have to buy three copies because the first two would be ruined by me masturbating on them.

I always thought of the Wii as a light-console for light-gamers such as stressed daddies and their kids and wifes...friend of mine has one (although he is no daddy ) and all the thing does is collect dust.

Emu is right, there are simply no games for the thing and with Nintendo´s new credo "Let´s get all the people who don´t know a decent Videogame to buy our little console" I don´t think that will change anytime soon.

It doesn´t even make sense. Take Metroid Prime or No more Heroes. No "normal" Person would or even COULD play them. Too complicated and complex for their inaccurate normal-person-hands. So naturally Nintendo is not really interested in releasing anything else than these simple "look-you-can-whiggle-with-the-remote" games like Sports and stuff like that.

I see what they tried to do and aparently many people like that, but I prefer to play my Videogames with my eyes and my hands, while sitting perfectly still on my comfy gaming-chair.
